Classic Monitor® 13 Series Shower - Complete Rough and Trim 5 5 1 1
In general, I like Delta products. I have been using delta products more than 25 years for kitchen, and bathrooms. All I bought are pretty much the basic but not the cheapest ones. I did have minor problems, but I was impressed by their customer service representatives, whenever I called, I just described the products and problems, they knew exactly what the problems were and parts shipped and received timely for free. I think most of the parts are universal, some parts similar to the one I bought long time ago, and at that time I did not I could call them and get free part replacement. I replaced the old ones because I remodeled kitchen and bathrooms. April 22, 2014

Hot Water

Aye O!

I have just completed installing this product. Quick question, I slowly turned on the cold water supply first and tested to make sure A: there were no leaks, and B: I was getting water when opening the shower valve. Both scenarios returned a successful result! I then shut off the cold water supply and turned on the hot water supply. Again I wanted to see if A: there were any leaks, and B: I was getting water with the shower valve open. Good news is there were no leaks, bad news is there is no hot water coming out of the shower head when the shower valve is opened at any point. Did I do something wrong or since the shower valve is pressure balanced, perhaps it needs both hot and cold supply turned on to allow hot water to flow? I can't test it too much as I have no shower pan installed and must catch all the water in a bucket.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi Tom, Thank you for your question. You are correct that both the hot and cold water supplies must be on for the pressure balanced cartridge in your model 132900 faucet to work properly.

faucet level is not controlling water at all, cannot shut off at shower

When turning the water back on it just runs straight out of the lower tub filler or the upper shower...whats up... have reseated the cartridge carefully, applied a silicone lubricant

This is a new product that I am installing. Box was a bit strange as there were no instructions included and a folding pocket knife was in there. Bought it at Home Depo.

Hi George,

Thanks for contacting Delta Faucet! Based on your description of the box, it sounds like you may have purchased an item returned by another customer. The box should have included a Maintenance & Installation document. I'll reach out to you via email to make sure we resolve this. Thanks!

What parts do I need for thin wall mounting of a 132900 valve?

I'm mounting a 132900 valve on an existing fiberglass shower stall. Is the RP47202 bracket the only part that I need?

Answer:
Thank you for your question. The instructions for thin wall mounting are included in the box with the rough-in with the thin wall mount rough-in kit, Delta Faucet model R10000-UNWXBXT. This is usually used when mounting on a fiberglass tub. Here are the instructions from the thin wall mounting bracket which is model RP47202:

1) Insert bracket into plasterguard cutouts and install short screws.
2) Place valve body assembly with thin wall support against back of mounting surface.
3) Place the front wall plate against wall and install self tapping screws. Tighten screws until assembly is secure.

Answer:
I used a 3 inch hole drill after finding the center and then used a vibrating-saw to cut out the escutheon screw holes. You just don't want the hole bigger than the hole of the escutcheon plate.
