Delta Monitor® 14 Series Tub and Shower with In2ition® Two-in-One Shower 5 5 2 2
GREAT SHOWER! This product has been fantastic. We have hard water and even with our softener it still had white build up on it. We tried vinegar and other cleaners but nothing work, after about 1 year the selector on the hand held unit failed. I called and they replaced it within a week! Fantastic support, this level of support deserves 5 stars! October 19, 2014
Features are great! Have used this item for a month now! It is an awesome shower head! September 14, 2014

Water coming out from showerhead when only tub spout is in use. How can this problem be corrected?

We just had this model installed in our tub/shower. When we turn on the water to the tub, even if we are not redirecting it to the showerhead, water is going coming out from the showerhead. We tried a replacement with a new cartridge, and verified that there were no obstructions but that did not resolve the issue.

Answer:
Hi Marc, Thank you for your question. Most likely, you are experiencing "shower-rise" where the water can’t get out of the spout as fast as it flows through the valve. This causes the water to back up and come out the shower head. There can be one of several reasons for this:

The valve could be upside down. The length from the valve to the tub spout is outside of the 8" to 18" rule
There is more than one 90-degree angle
Something other than copper or galvanized pipe was used going to the spout
The most common reason is that there is something restricting the water flow to the spout, e.g. solder or something lodged in the pipe. Something is impeding the flow of water to the spout and causing it to back up and go out the shower head. If this is the cause of shower-rise it is possible to remove the blockage by removing the tub spout; then, feeding a plumber’s snake or a speedometer cable up through the tub drop. The act of feeding it causes it to twirl and loosen the blockage. Be sure to flush the valve before reinstalling the tub spout. Be sure to check the tub spout itself for blockage.
If none of these help, you may need to call a plumber. After the shower has been installed and the wall has been closed, there is little that can be done to remedy this situation yourself.
Thanks,
Dave

Answer:
Hi Mike, Thank you for your question. The In2ition showerhead that comes in the model 144710-RB-I faucet has a flow rate of 2.5 gallons per minute regardless of whether you are using the fixed, handheld, or both heads together. The flow rate of the showerhead cannot be increased. Check to make sure that the cartridge and showerhead inlet are clean and free of debris and mineral build up.
Thanks,
Dave

Answer:
Hi Lesley, Thank you for your question. The RP29827 renovation cover plate will not fit around the rectangular escutcheon on the Nura model 144710-SS-I faucet. The opening is for a 7" round escutcheon. You could order a RP19809SS round escutcheon separately and replace the one that comes with the faucet trim.

Dave

Hi Louisiana, Thank you for your question. Both the 144710-I, and the 144710 use the same R10000 multichoice rough in. You will be able to switch out all the external parts and use your existing rough in valve.

Answer:
Hi Mark, Thank you for your question. To remove the handle on your model 144710-I you must remove the button at the end of the handle giving you access to the screw. Once the handle and trim sleeve are removed you should have access to the RLS. I have attached a picture of the faucet break down to assist you with your repair.

Dave

Can we extend the hose between the handle and the base?

We would like to extend the hose that runs between the handle and the base to 7 or 8 feet. Currently it is just a tad too short.
Is this possible? Can we purchase a longer hose?

Answer:
Hi Sayang,
Thank you for your question. There are several longer spray hoses available. The U495D-69-PK is an 69"-92" stretchable metal hose in chrome, U494R-84-PK is an 84" Ultraflex ribbon hose in white/chrome, and U490R-84-PK is an 84" Ultraflex ribbon hose in black/chrome.

Do you have a model number of an overflow/valve accessory for the tub that I can buy that will match this shower head? I am changing the tub from gold to this bronze so need to change it all.
Thank you.

Hi Suz,

Thank you for your interest in our Delta products. The bath waste assembly would have to be a Delta unit in order for the over flow plate to fit your unit. You may click on the link below to learn more about the bath waste assembly. I hope this helps. (RP693RB)

hot water is not very hot

When the handle is turned all the way hot, it is just not hot enough to run a tub.... This is adjustable when installing right?
Is it something the plumber could fix?

Hi Teally,

The cartridge in your faucet comes preset at a luke warm temperature. This can be changed by adjusting the rotational limit stop. I have attached the instructions for doing so.
