Rated 3.6 out of 5 by 5 reviewers.
Rated 2 out of 5 by Flimsy and no water pressure control I just bought a house with this faucet in the bath. I hate that I can't control the water pressure - it's like the type of faucet found in a cheap motel. The faucets in the sinks are beautiful and work well and the accessories are very pretty (tp holder, towel racks). My water was coming out luke warm at best, I figured there was a scald control and tried to take the handle off, the screw stripped and after I got that out it didn't slip off like in the video, the plastic parts inside broke and now it doesn't work. I agree with other reviews that it is flimsy and wish it had pressure control. I love Delta products and will likely buy a different style to replace this now broken one. March 14, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Nice design, poor performance To be fair, I ‘got what I paid for’ and I made assumptions. I didn’t realize that you cannot control the water pressure on this unit and Delta didn’t make it obvious on the packaging. You can only control the hot cold mix and that is it. Yuck! Also the installation instructions should be a little clearer. Do not forget to put at least eight inch drop pipe on the tub spout or water will flow out of the shower head. Very disappointing to find this out after is installed. April 5, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect for our Master Bath Remodel Nice flow from shower head. Definitely like the single handle design so we don't have to mess with heat control. August 20, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by PLUMBING GOOD SHOWER HEAD NOT SO GOOD PURCHASED porter monitor from home depot. had my plumber install the valve, i threw the shower head away, it looked nice but the SHOWER was not to my familys liking. i put back the $29.00 plastic hand held shower. Much better performance. May 30, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love the faucet I bought this style faucet for the jet setting and it works really well. Had to replace the handle but Delta has a lifetime warranty and replaced it at no cost, no questions asked. June 4, 2016

Answer:
Hi Doug,

Thank you for your question! The tub spout for this model is the RP47841OB. We do not make an adapter for the spout as it will thread directly onto a 1/2" pipe.

Slip on installation for tub spout

On page 7 of the installation book, you show a slip-on installation to 1/2" pipe for the tub spout. This was not included in the kit I bought. Where can I find one for my spout?

Answer:
Hi Lavon Turpin, Thank you for your question!

The instructions come with general tub spout installation instructions. The spout RP47841 attaches to 1/2" threaded pipe. You will need to extend your copper pipe and have a male adapter at the end that measures between 3-7/8"-4" from the finished wall to the end of the threaded pipe. If you would like a slip on tub spout we offer is the RP64721SS or RP48718SS.

Answer:
Hi jdwall179, Thank you for your question. The RP47841OB tub spout that comes in the model 144984-OB-A is made to screw onto a 1/2" fitting in the nose of the spout. You will want to install the 1/2" copper tube with 1/2" male adapter so that the end of the adapter projects out from the finished surface 3-7/8" to 4".

Will this series work with the rp12307?

Already had the rp12307 adapter on the pipe but the spout doesn't have the internal plastic piece that screws on. Was it supposed to? It shows that type of installation in the manual.

Answer:
Hi Jessica, Thank you for your question. The diverter tub spout that comes in the model 144984-BN-A does not use and is not compatible with the RP12307 tub spout adapter. The RP47841BN tub spout does not include an adapter and threads directly onto 1/2" pipe threads in the nose of the spout. The manual shows all 3 types of tub spout installations. The RP43161SS, RP42915SS, and the RP34357SS are all similarly styled spouts that use the RP12307 adapter.
Thanks,
Dave

Can increase water flow?

We have discovered in reading the answer to a previous person's question that we inadvertently purchased a " water sense" fixture 144984-OB-A. Can this be changed to a non water sense head? We are on our own well so water conservation is not a problem. If so what would be the procedure, model # etc. We purchased it at home depot.

Hi Jim, Thank you for your question. The RP62171OB showerhead that comes in the 144984-OB-A is rated at 2.0 gallons per minute. You can purchase any of our showerheads that flow at a higher rate to replace this model. The shower arm connection is a standard 1/2" pipe thread.

Can you change the cartridge to increase water pressure?

I replaced my shower faucet with this model and the water pressure is significantly weaker. Is there a replacement cartridge available that will work with this faucet that allows more flow/pressure? Any other way to increase flow if that is not possible?

Answer:
Hi HSims, Thank you for your question. The cartridge affects water flow, but not water pressure. That is determined by the water pressure coming into your home. The showerhead that comes with the model 144984-OB-A is a watersense labeled product that flows at 2.0 gallons per minute compared the standard 2.5 gpm of most showerheads. This feature may be where you are seeing the loss of water flow.
Thanks,
Dave

Answer:
Hi Mike,
Thank you for your question. The movement of the lever handle on the Porter model 144984-OB is only from 3 to 12 o-clock. If the water is not getting hot enough you may have to adjust your rotational limit stop underneath the handle. I have attached the instructions on how to do this.
Thanks,
Dave

Answer:
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # 144984-OB-A contains a rotational limit stop that may need adjusting to allow more hot water to flow through the valve. Included here are the instructions to adjust the rotational limit stop. The directions are on page 7.
