The toilet's 1.6 gal. flush is better than the old one at 2.8 gal.
The increase height is great, especially for seniors. the removable seat however, would not stay secure, it would continually come loose; however, I provided a solution, I bought a package of Clear Velcro fasteners from Home Depot and I put one on each side of the plastic release mechanism and re-tightened and the seat is secure. The design also enhances our recently remodeled bathroom.

I like the toilet. However there is one thing about it that I dont care for. That is the fact that when you flush liquid waste you just flush as normal, but when it is solid waste you have to hold the handle down for about 2 seconds or it wont dispose of the waste. That really is no big deal unless you have guests. Then you need to tell them all about how it works.Other than that it is a great toilet!!

First, the toilet itself. I bought two of these on sale and, as promised, they were a breeze to install. The toughest part of the job was removing the existing toilets. Whoever installed them used an adhesive caulk around the base and it was difficult to remove. The installation instructions were clear and well illustrated. The water line is somewhat long but, if you loop it correctly, it tucks quite neatly behind the bowl and is virtually unnoticeable. As far as performance goes, it goes, if you know what I mean. The toilet definitely uses less water and the factory setting was right on the indicated 1.28 setting mark. We have not had a problem with solid waste either as others have reported.
As I mentioned, I bought two of these toilets. As it turned out, the second one I installed was defective. After removal, it looked to me like there was a leak between the two trap/drain lines that allows the water in the bowl to drain after flushing (looked like a manufacturing defect during firing). This allowed the water in the bowl to drain enough that sewer gasses could enter through the trap and stink up the house. I called Delta to explain the situation and they responded admirably. They offered to research local suppliers for in-stock replacements and ultimately I agreed to take a similarly priced model that uses the same bowl but different tank because it was local and in-stock. After speaking with Delta, I received the warranty replacement authorization in about a half hour . I went to HD, picked up my replacement no problem, and replaced the toilet shortly thereafter.
My only concern is that the internals are not universal and if and when they need replacement, locating them at a reasonable price may be difficult.
