What model does the R10000 replace, and what year was it introduced?

My house is 11 years old and came with Delta products. I am about to renovate the bathroom and there is nothing wrong with the plumbing behind the wall, so I would like to just replace the trim and cartridge. I am wondering if I may already have the R10000. What year was it introduced? What model does it replace? Is there an easily identifiable way to find out what rough in I have (ie etched model number on a visible part of rough in)?
Thanks!

Answer:
Hi Dan, Thank you for your question. The R10000 multichoice universal rough was introduced in February 2006. The previous rough shipped with the faucet and had no specific part number. Our current T13/14 series trims will fit an older 1300/1400 series rough , and the T17 series Monitor trims will fit an older model 1700 series. The cartridge that ships with the new trims will not fit the old rough in valves. You will have to continue to use the existing cartridge or order a new RP19804 for the 1300/1400 series or a new RP32104 for the 1700 series.
The 1300/1400 series are single handle models that operate by turning the handle in a counter-clockwise direction to control the water temperature only. The 1700 series offer control over temperature and volume.
Thanks,
Dave

R10000-IPWS vs R10000-IP Stops vs no Stops

What are the stops for / what do they do? Are they required for specific installations? Any reason to purchase the rough-in with or without stops?

Answer:
Hi Mike, Thank you for your question. The R10000-IPWS comes with built in screw driver stops that allow you to shut the water off at the valve to service or repair the faucet. You would not have to shut off the water supply to the rest of the house. The R10000-IP does not give you that option.
Thanks,
Dave

Answer:
Hi Jim, Thank you for your question. The R10000-UNBX is the correct rough in valve to use with the T14286 shower trim. You can also use the R10000-UNBXHF rough made for shower only installations.
Thanks,
Dave

1500 Shower only upgrade

I have a Series 1500 Monitor (Shower only, screws at 2&8 O'clock)) that I would like to upgrade to a T17 series. Should I use the RP32104 valve plus any T17 trim package (such as the T17051)? Or are there restrictions on which T17 can be used. Many thanks!

Answer:
Hi David, Thank you for your question. You can update to a new T17 series using your existing 1500 valve. You are correct that you will need the RP32104 cartridge. You will also need the RP22734 bonnet nut to go with the new cartridge. Any of the T17 trims will work, but the T17T trims will not. You will not use the RP46463 cartridge that comes with the new trim.
Thanks,
Dave

Answer:
Hi Chris,

Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # R10000-IP is specifically designed to be used with Iron Pipe fittings to attach your valve.

Delta Faucet model # R10000-UNBX will accept 1/2" copper pipe, iron pipe, PEX, or CPVC adapters to attach your valve.

Either one will work with the Leland series faucets.

Thanks.

Answer:
Hi Ed,

Thanks for contacting Delta Faucet. With the trim, T60P410, either the R10000-UNBX or the R10000-IP can be used.
The R10000-UNBX can be used with any piping such as copper, iron, pvc or pex. The R10000-IP is specifically for an installation using iron pipe.
