We installed a new tub & shower in January, 2014, in our winter condo. We used the shower for three months then and for about three months in 2015.
The diverter never worked well; there was almost always less pressure at the shower head than in the tub. In fact, we began to jiggle the diverter to get more pressure to the shower.
The diverter fell apart and proved impossible to fix after a couple of days attempting and going to our very helpful local hardware store for assistance.
The saving grace is that Delta quickly offered to send a new spout/diverter assembly under the warranty. No questions asked.
The problem is that it took almost a week for the replacement part to even ship.
We hope the replacement will last for more than 6 months of use.

During a 2013 bathroom remodel, I had the T17478 tub/shower assembly professionally installed in the tub. The dual function flow control-temp control valve has worked flawlessly but recently the pull up diverter spout started leaking water when in the pulled up position. It leaks so badly that the water flow control has to be turned on all the way to keep the diverter in the shower position. This wastes water, not to mention the energy to heat the water.

I love the look of the product, but not happy with having to replace the tub spout after a little over a year. I have been having trouble with the pull-up diverter for quite a while. Not working correctly. Yesterday the whole unit fell apart. Now I have to replace the entire tub spout and hope the new unit will not fail, I will order it later today.

by Charlie2016 Diverter breaks upon using
We remodeled our bathroom 3 years ago and had Model RP42915SS Delta Tub Spout installed in our tub. One year later the diverter was not closing properly and not giving us use of our shower. I ordered a replacement in January of 2016. I received a broken diverter as a replacement. I called and was shipped out another on March 4, 2016. I opened box and take out of package and diverter assembly came apart. Haven't been able to install 2 replacements. I am being sent another today June 24,2016. NOT HAPPY. if 3rd spout doesn't work I will ask for refund and never recommend DELTA products..Please fix this issue. Love the look but hate the performance. Seems other RP42915SS customer reviews share my issue.

I have had this installed for a few months now, and the pull up diverter has stopped working completely. It is a nicely designed set, but the workmanship is questionable. Very disappointed.

I've had the faucet for less than 2 years and the diverter gave out. Beautiful design, but the mechanics a suspect.

The finish on this spout looks nice. My wife and I bought our house about 18 months ago with this hardware installed in the newly remodeled guest bath.
We never used that tub or shower until our child was born 6 weeks ago. The spout continuously leaks water when the diverter is pulled up as far as it can go. Also, there is minimal to no water pressure from the shower head.
It looks nice, but the functionality and workmanship is poor. As I am not the original owner, I have no warranty information.

We recently purchased a home and all of the faucets are very nice. About three months later, my son stepped into his tub and turned on the water to take a shower and the entire spout shot off the wall. The plastic inside had broken. Because we aren't the original home owners, the warranty does not apply!
The faucet itself is fine, it's just the pvc pipe fitting that screws in to the faucet that broke. I called Delta and they don't sell just that part. You have to purchase the entire faucet for $90 to fix a $1.00 piece.
