Works with 17 Series Rough In Valve?

I believe I have a Delta Monitor 17 tub trim, installed in 1992 (see shared picture). The rough-in valve obviously pre-dates the MultiChoice Universal and I don't want to upgrade the valve if at all possible. Would the Victorian Monitor 17 Series work with my existing rough-in valve?

Answer:
Hi Peter, Thank you for your question. The new 17 series trim will work on your old 1700 rough in. The new trim will come with a new cartridge which will not work in your old valve. You can continue to use your old cartridge or replace it with RP32104.
Thanks,
Dave

Can this handle replace a ball type handle?

I have an older style "ball" type tub faucet handle which is clear in color and we want to upgrade to a bronze type single handle. We do not want to replace the entire manifold, is there a way to fit a single handle bronze handle on a mixing type manifold?
Thanks,
Bill

Answer:
Thank you for your question. We need to determine what style your old faucet is before we can determine if the new faucet will work. When you turn on your faucet, if you push up and turn it to the left or right, then you have a 600 series faucet. If that is the case, the 1700 series will not work.

If you turn your faucet on by just turning to the right or left, then you have a 1300 series and if you have a valve that is older than 2006, then the 1700 series will not work. You can however upgrade to a lever handle like th H79RB.

If you have two handles stacked on top of each other, one ofr volume and one for temperature, then you have a 1700 series and this faucet will work very well.
