Installing 17-series Linden shower fixture

I am replacing my old, gold plated, Delta Monitor 15-series shower fixtures and have two questions. \
- First, the cartridge which came with the new 17-series Linden shower kit I orderd has a part with 2 rubber o-rings that is supposed to be screwed into the rough in fitting. But my rough in fitting does not have a place for the screw to be inserted, and it has two o-rings mounted in the rough-in fitting already. Do I need to replace the wall mounted rough-in fitting, or is there another option?
-Second, the new kit does not come with a chrome bonnet nut to replace the old, gold-plate bonnet nut that is on the rough-in fitting. Is there a way to order just the chrome bonnnet nut?

Answer:
Thank you for your question. When upgrading from a 1500 series to a 1700 series, the cartridge that is included with your 1700 series will not work. You will need to order and purchase a model RP32104 to fit in your older valve.

Also you will need to purchase the bonnet nut as it is not included in the trim package. It is now included in the rough-in package of our multi-choice valves. The model number for the bonnet nut is RP22734.

Which rough valve to be used with T17294-SS-I? R10000-UNBX or R10000-UNWS or other and why?

Which rough valve i am better off using with T17294-SS-I? R10000-UNBX or R10000-UNWS or other and why?

Please consider that I am using this product for "shower only" (no tub).

Please advice.

Thanks.

Answer:
The UNWS has screwdriver stops that allow you to shut off the water at the valve, UNBX does not. WS is used in apartments and dorm type applications where it is not feasible to shut off the water to a whole building to work on a shower head. Hope that helps!

Answer:
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # T17294-SS-I can be used with either the R10000-UNBX or the R10000-UNWS. The R10000-UNWS includes screwdriver stops that allows the user to turn the water off at the valve instead of turning the water off in the entire house to work on the system.

If you are never going to put a tub spout on this system, we would recommend Delta Faucet model # R10000-UNBXHF. This will give you the highest flow of water.

Answer:
Either will work, but I chose the UNWS as it has integrated service stops you can access by removing the shower trim plate. This means you can turn off the water to the shower without having to turn off the water to the whole house.

Answer:
Thank you for your questions. There is not a washer between the showerhead and shower arm on Delta Faucet model # T17294-I. We recommend using plumber's tape around the shower arm to seal it in.

Answer:
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # T17294-RB-I does include a pause feature as one of the settings on the handshower. It will slow down the handshower to a trickle. It does not affect the statationary showerhead.

comparing Linden and Carlisle

The features of the Carlisle 2-in-1 showerhead say "water can flow through both the showerhead and handshower at the same time or separately for maximum flexibility." Does the Linden 2-in-1 showerhead have the same capability?
