Mark, thank you for your question! We often say that the rough-in valve is the part of the shower unit that you do not see as it is behind the wall. The trim is all the pieces that are visible to the eye. Our most popular rough-in valve is Delta Faucet model #R10000-UNBX. Information surrounding it can be found by following this link:
