Victorian Monitor® 17 Series Tub and Shower Trim
8 years and going strong!
I am building a new house and was searching for fixtures when I came across this set that I bought when I remodeled my current home 8 years ago. I love this shower head - by swiveling the tab on the rim, the flow goes from full and gentle to more narrow and invigorating. My favorite feature is the independent temperature/flow levers on the faucet. If you are the only one who uses the shower, the temp is always right where you left it. It is a great feature for small children as well in that they can play with the big lever (on/off) without changing the water temp.
It is our main bath/shower used by three people every day ( for the past 8 years) and I think it looks and works as well as day 1.
Cons- if it matters to you, yes, it shows water spots if you don't dry it ( which I never have and never will ;) ) and yes some parts are plastic but you'll really have to study it to tell which ones.

Not well made
The separate hot cold regulator is pretty flimsy and pops off easily. I would have hoped that an fairly expensive faucet would have held up longer. The screw that hold the regulator is way too short and the cartridge is now striped.

Some Parts Are Plastic
I was disappointed that some parts were plastic. I wrote or called about this (can't remember) and was told all faucets were like that so I just kept it. I worry how it will hold up. The faucet works well.

Temp control is difficult to move from cold to hot
This product was installed by a plumber for a new shower stall in my master bathroom about 6 years ago. At first it worked fine but then about 2 years later the temperature control knob became difficult to turn and the volume control started getting wobbly. I put up with this problem but I wish there was some fix that could be applied. It looks beautiful and the shower head delivers a good stream for showers. The problem is annoying however. The product was purchased at Home Depot.

product good for the first 3 years
I purchased this shower valve three years ago and the other day my wife went to shut off the water and the handle kept turning she finally had shut it off but the handle was still loose upon inspecting it I took the handle off and noticed the threads were worn. I also noticed that the plastic valve that the handle attaches to was also worn. How does a plastic valve wear out the threads on the metal handle. The other problem that we have had was that the temperature lever has been stiff to move for a while.
