Rated 3.8 out of 5 by 4 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good quality, installation gotcha In replacing a Delta roman tub faucet (set screw on rear of spout) I was advised by Delta that any of the trims beginning with T would work with the existing valve. Unfortunately they didn't indicate that the base of the 2705 series doesn't cover a secondary hole that was part of the existing trim. Before ordering, remove your existing trim and see if your deck has a second hole (used for a 1/4" pin that stabilized the existing spout-see photo). The solution per Delta support is to use BT-2710-SS. It doesn't use the hole, but the spout base is large enough to cover the hole. Or fill the hole with silicone. Note: To align the handles you may need to disassemble and reverse the valve stem, not covered in the instructions. Overall, a high quality, affordable trim kit but be aware of these issues. Rated 1 out of 5 by I doesn't work like advertised The description and picture says these are 1/4 turn lever handles....as one would expect lever handles to operate. Not so.. the required rough-in is 180 degree turn valve. so you need 1/4 stops. they are supposed to be supplied with the trim kit, (it even mentions them in the trim kit installation sheet??) but were not. I called Delta and they explained they don't supply 1/4 turn stops because then it would not have full flow capability...important for a tub...yes. The Delta rep. said you should set the lever handles like shown and they turn 180 degres toward you, but with handles on 8" centers they hit the spout. The solution would be to have a rough in valve made for full flow at 1/4 turn, but this doesn't exist. Funny, they got it right on the matching lav faucet. This one is a mess. September 3, 2014

The T2705-SS should fit onto your existing RP18227 rough in valve.

I would like to not have to replace the valve system underneath, as it is sweated on to water supply. Removed handles and spout, but the trim rings are attached to base, not sure how to remove without removing nuts from underneath.

Hi Dave, Thank you for your question!

If your current tub spout has a set screw on the back side of the spout, then any of our trim kits that start with a T27 will interchange for you. Some examples are T2710 and T2792.
If your current spout does not have a set screw on the back side of the spout, then you would need to install a R2707 rough in valve below your tub decking to be able to use the new trim kits. Also, you will have to unthread the handle base to remove it.

Answer:
Hi Ko,

Thank you for your question! Please check to make sure the spout has a set screw on the back. If so, any current T27_ trim kit should work with the existing valve. However, you will need access below the deck to change the transfer valve trim (RP14979) if the unit was installed prior to 2006. Our Stainless Steel finish is similar to a brushed nickel.

Switching Trim on Roman Tub

Customer avatar
by
Gen P
Denver, CO, USA
I have a roman tub with a Delta faucet that I'd like to switch out. I have no access under the tub to touch the pipes/rough-in set up/valves. I have H616 lever hot and cold handles in brushed nickel and brass (two-tone). I also have roman tub faucet T5722-SS installed right now with H616 handles. I want to remove them and replace with the Cassidy T2795-LHP faucet and H695 cross handles in polished chrome. Can the trim be easily switched out using the same valves and set up?

Hi Gen P,

Thank you for your question! If you have the T5722-SS trim kit or any model that has a set screw on the back of the spout, you should be able to use the T2795-LHP with the existing valve.

Thanks,
Jon

Switch from T2710 to T2738?

We just bought a house with a gold T2710 on the tub, and there is no access to the rough-in. The spout has a set screw on the back, so reading this page made me think I could swap to the T2738. But http://answers.deltafaucet.com/answers/7551-en_us/product/faq_finish/delta-finish-questions-answers/questions.htm says "Delta Faucet model # T2710 can only be changed out to another T2710 because there is an anti-swivel pin in place underneath the spout." Can I switch from the T2710 to T2738 without accessing the rough-in? Can I change the stem assembly (to avoid the faucet's set-screw puncturing the plastic stem I currently have)? Finally, we have "brushed nickel" for everything else in our bathroom. Is the closest thing from Delta the "stainless steel"?

Answer:
Hi Jackie, Thank you for your questions. The T2738 trim will fit on the rough that the T2710 uses. The spout that comes in the T2738 trim is not large enough to cover the additional hole left by the anti-swivel pin used with the T2710 spout. The hole will have to be repaired.
When switching from knob style to lever style handles you will want to switch out the existing stem assemblies to RP25513 that has the metal stem and will allow the lever handles to function properly.
Our (SS) brilliance stainless finish is a brushed finish comparable to other brands brushed nickel.
Thanks,
Dave

replacing the trim to my roman tub

Customer avatar
by
The Basian

I think I currently have the T2710 trim kit installed in my tub (just bought the house) and I think it was installed in 1994. The set screw is on the back of the faucet. There is no access to swap out the rough-in, and I was hoping to update away from the brass fixture currently installed. Are there any trim kits I can use? I was hoping to swap to the T2705 or something similar.

Answer:
Hi The Basian, Thank you for your question. In most cases where the roman tub spout is attached with a set screw in the back of the spout the current trims will fit on the existing rough in valve. To verify if the new trims will work please compare the spout connection on your current faucet to the connection of the R2707 rough. If the connections are the same the new trims will work

Answer:
Hi Alpharettark, Thank you for your question. As a rule of thumb if the set screw is located on the back of the roman tub spout the new trims will work with your existing rough in valves. To verify please remove your existing tub spout and see if your rough in spout connection is the same as the attached picture of the current R2707.

Hi Jerry, Thank you for your question. The T2705 roman tub trim will not work with the rough in valve from your model 2750. The spout connection is not the same. You would need to switch out the rough to installl the new trim.

Hi Cam, Thank you for your question. Your model T2705 faucet uses the RP24096 stem assembly and the RP4993 seats and springs to control the water flow. Replacing these parts should stop your leak.
