INDIANAPOLIS (Dec. 2011) -Delta Faucet Company congratulates the 2011 winners of the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors-National Association (PHCC)/Delta Faucet Company John Eberhardt Contractor of the Year and Apprentice of the Year awards, two prestigious honors sponsored by Delta Faucet Company. The winners were recognized at an awards luncheon that took place in Minneapolis, Minn., during PHCC's annual conference, CONNECT 2011.
Bill Howe, a residential and commercial plumbing contractor in San Diego, Calif., and president of Bill Howe Plumbing, Inc., was named PHCC/Delta Faucet Company John Eberhardt Contractor of the Year and Scott Shaver of Malvern, Pa., was awarded the 2011 Apprentice of the Year.

The Contractor of the Year award was named after John Eberhardt, former senior vice president of sales and marketing at Delta Faucet. During his 30-year tenure with Delta Faucet Company, Eberhardt was a leading driver behind the relationship between the Delta® brand and PHCC.
Howe was recognized for his commitment to professionalism, skills in merchandising, management and innovative plumbing, trade involvement and community service. Since its launch more than 20 years ago, Bill Howe Plumbing, Inc. has grown into one of San Diego's largest commercial and residential property services companies. It recently earned first place at the San Diego Rotary Club's 33 Heilbron Awards in the medium business category for its "pay it forward" spirit and willingness to share professional expertise to advance the success of others in the community. The San Diego Business Journal listed Bill Howe Plumbing, Inc. as a Best Place to Work finalist in 2010 and 2011.
In addition, Howe currently serves as secretary of the PHCC of San Diego executive board, where he previously held positions as president, vice president, treasurer and board member. His efforts to continually improve his industry by training and educating the next generation of plumbers set him apart from other professionals in his field. Howe served as a sponsor for students participating in the PHCC of San Diego Apprenticeship Training Program and is a strong proponent of combining classroom education, hands-on work and real-life experiences in the work field.
"Howe is an excellent mentor to his employees and also to fellow business owners," said Danielle Dorsey, executive administrator for PHCC of San Diego. "He continually contributes in significant ways to the betterment of the industry and sets a positive example of enthusiasm and commitment in the PHCC organization."
Shaver's technical skills impeccable attendance record and strong work ethic helped earn him the 2011 Apprentice of the Year award. He is a graduate of the Philadelphia Suburban Plumbing School.
