Six students on PHC Career Track receive $2500 scholarship at “Network ’06” Convention

CHICAGO

Delta Faucet Company and the PHCC awarded six $2,500 scholarships to students attending four-year colleges who are entering a plumbing/ heating/ cooling career during the annual Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors (PHCC) meeting yesterday afternoon at Palmer House Hilton Hotel.  The announcement was made in conjunction with the “Network ‘06” convention – which joins the American Supply Association (ASA) and PHCC conventions into one event, bringing plumbers and wholesalers together.

“By recognizing the young men and women who are the future of the PHC industry, we hope to support them in their aspirations for higher education and help them further attain their professional goals,” said Jon Dartt, vice president of sales for Delta Faucet Company.

The following students were awarded the PHCC scholarships and will continue their education in the fall semester:

  • Peter Costello of East Sandwich, MA, will be attending Curry College in Milford, MA, as a freshman majoring in Business Management.
  • Luke DeWolfe of Boylston, MA, is currently a sophomore at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, GA, majoring in Business Management.
  • Alex J. Gasper of Flushing, MI, is currently a junior at Ferris State University in Big Rapids, MI, and is majoring in HVACR Engineering Technology. 
  • Elisa Maggio of Ipswich, MA, is currently a sophomore at Bentley College in Waltham, MA, majoring in Business Management.
  • Adam Meny of Haubstadt, IN, will be attending the University of Southern Indiana in Evansville, IN, as a freshman majoring in Business Administration. 
  • Matthew Torvinen of Duluth, MN, will be attending the University of Minnesota in Duluth, MN, as a freshman majoring in Engineering.

To qualify for this $2,500 scholarship, students must submit a detailed application including a letter of recommendation from an active member of the PHCC and plan on studying a plumbing-related field in college or trade school.  The purpose of the Delta Faucet Company Scholarship Program is to elevate the technical and business competence of the plumbing-heating-cooling (PHC) industry by awarding scholarships to students who are enrolled in a major directly related to the PHC profession at an accredited four-year college or university or an accredited two-year technical college, community college or trade school.
