New Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet Features Three Innovative Technologies

Touch2O Technology

With intuitive Touch2O Technology, the homeowner can start and stop the flow of water with just a simple tap anywhere on the spout or the handle.  "This makes kitchen tasks easier during food preparation and clean up and helps prevent the spread of bacteria,“ said Liza Mathew, Delta kitchen product manager.

Touch2O Technology makes it easier to turn off the water flow when hands are messy or when water flow is not needed between tasks, saving water and energy.  

Pilar operates manually as well as with Touch2O functionality, while the handle adjusts flow rate and temperature.  A  blue LED light indicates when Touch2O Technology is engaged, and turns red when the batteries need to be replaced.

Magnetic Docking System

The Pilar design incorporates a two-function pull-down spray head that switches from stream to spray with the click of a diverter button.  A magnetic closure called MagnaTite™ intuitively engages the spray head to its docked position, helping to keep both the faucet and kitchen looking neat and orderly.

DIAMOND™ Seal Technology

Pilar features Delta Faucet Company’s patented DIAMOND™ Seal Technology, a breakthrough innovation in water delivery for faucets.  It eliminates leaks and drips from the valve. The DIAMOND valve requires no lubrication, eliminates wear on seals and ensures "like new" operation for life.  Performance tested, the DIAMOND™ valve will last up to 10 times longer than the industry standard. (Industry standard is based on ASME 112.18.1 = 500,000 cycles.)

DIAMOND Seal Technology, which incorporates the DIAMOND valve and one-piece InnoFlex waterways, satisfies California statute AB 1953, mandating that by January 1, 2010, the weighted average lead content in pipes, fittings and fixtures used to convey drinking water cannot exceed 0.25% lead on wetted surfaces.

All the parts needed for installation are in the box. InnoFlex integrated supply lines measure 38“ from the valve base to the fittings, with a minimum of 32“ below the deck. Waterways connect directly onto hot and cold water shut off valves, so there are no additional supply lines or connections to purchase.

High-Arc Spout

Another feature of the Pilar faucet is the high-arc spout, which swivels 360◦ for greater functionality in the kitchen. This provides ample clearance for pots, plates and other cooking utensils.

Availability

Pilar is available in chrome and Brilliance® stainless with an optional, coordinating soap dispenser. A five-year warranty covers the faucet, finish and electronics.
