Frequently Asked Questions

Drains

How do I remove my bathroom sink drain stopper for cleaning?

If a stopper does not lift straight out, it is being held in by the horizontal rod. Behind the drain pipe under the sink is a horizontal rod connected to the lift rod via the strap. The horizontal rod is held in place by a nut. Remove the nut and pull the horizontal rod straight away from the pipe about an inch. The stopper should now come free of the
drain.

How do I remove my tub drain stopper for cleaning?

There are two types of tub drain stoppers - lift & turn and toe tap.

Lift and Turn

The lift & turn stopper for the bathtub unscrews counterclockwise while in the full up position.

Toe Tap

The toe tap stopper also unscrews counterclockwise while in the full up position.  However, the cap may unscrew from the plunger assembly before the entire stopper comes out. In that case, there is a nut that will be exposed and can be used to unscrew the plunger assembly from the drain.

If either of these is "spinning" without unscrewing, the threads are stripped and you would need to exert upward pressure while unscrewing in hopes of uncoupling this from the bath waste. If that doesn't work you would have to unscrew the bath waste flange from the drain pipe.

This will require access under the tub.

Bot from Ferguson and assumed pop-up drain was the "PUSH-POP-UP", not the manual pull-up kind that is hard to work and leaks. Wrong product was sent. My plumber is having a difficult time making this work and not leak. However, I really wanted the push pop-up and didn't use the correct term. Doesn't this faucet have the option of PUSH POP-UP? No one seems to be able to find one.

I have the Delta Ara 567L7F-SSPP installed in a granite countertop with an undermount square ceramic sink. The rod that connects the drain pull up lever to the pop-up drain is too short to operate properly. Is there a way to convert the traditional pop-up drain to a push-style drain?

Answer:
Hi Danasski,

Thank you for your question. The drain assembly may be replaced with a push-pop up drain, such as the 72173-SS. Please check the Technical Specifications to make sure it will work with your sink.

http://www.deltafaucet.com/customer...

You may also be able to use a metal pop-up drain, such as RP26533SS, with a longer horizontal rod.

RP22828 = 8 1/8"
RP33805 = 10 1/8"

Hi Wondering, Thank you for your question!
The down port of the valve body is for tub spout to connect. If you are installing the unit as a shower only you can cap off the pipe nipple.

I propose to install an Addison with ToucH2O on a quartz counter top, over an enameled cast iron sink. Do I need to use a non-metallic drain pipe to avoid interference with the solenoid? Do I need to do something special with the disposal mounting to avoid interference?

What pop up drain to use for a drop in copper sink?

I haven't yet selected a faucet, but plan to use oil rubbed bronze. The copper sink has no over flow valve, so is a thin sheet of copper and the standard pop up drains are designed for the thicker porcelain sinks. Is there a drain designed for this scenario?

Hi Gail,

Thank you for your question! The 72172-RB Venetian Bronze push-pop up drain assembly should work with your sink. This is the only pop-up assembly we make for sinks without an overflow.
