Yes, you just need to be cautious not to scratch or bend the part.

Portable dishwashers and water filters may be connected to any Delta kitchen faucet that is not a Pull-out or Pull-down design.  Portable dishwashers should never be connected to Pull-out or Pull-down kitchen faucets due to potential pressure fluctuations during dishwasher operation that may result in rupturing of the hose.

Some Delta kitchen faucets have a cache or hidden aerator for design purposes.  This design can be found in the Victorian, Pilar, and Talbott series.  If your model has a cache (hidden) aerator, you will need to order RP51505 adaptor to adapt the internal threads to a standard 55/64"-27 male threads to be able to make the dishwasher connection.

Delta Faucet Company recommends you leave the existing fitting on the PEX supply tubing and not shorten the tubing.  If you determine the PEX supply tubing for this faucet is too long and must be shorter to create an acceptable installation, be sure to read the instructions and plan ahead. When cutting the supply tubing the installer accepts the responsibility to do so in a way that allows a leak-free joint to be created.  Delta is not responsible for tubing that is cut too short or cut in a way that will not allow for a leak-free joint.  For custom fit installations, you must use RP50952 sleeves supplied with model and nuts included on supply lines. Tube cut must be straight. See plastic sleeve installation instructions found on RP50952.

NOTICE: DO NOT use a metal sleeve, RP51243 gasket (supplied with faucet) or ferrule in the place of the plastic sleeve supplied, it may not create a leak-free joint. Do not use pipe dope or other sealants on water line connections.

Instructions

1. Identify desired length of tube (1). Leave 1" - 2" of extra length to allow for easier installation and cut tube. Ensure cut is straight and burr free.

2. Slide nut (2) and plastic sleeve (3) onto cut tube. Ensure sleeve is oriented as shown.

3. Insert tube into outlet fitting (4). Tube should touch bottom of hole inside fitting.

4. Slide plastic sleeve down tube until it engages top of fitting. NOTICE: Failure to use plastic sleeve in the correct orientation will result in disconnection and possible water damage.

5. Slide nut over plastic sleeve. With wrench, tighten nut 2 turns past finger tight.  Do not overtighten.

Delta has developed quick connect parts to fit the request for longer hoses.

• 67" widespread hose for all two handle kitchen and lavatory widespreads - part number RP40307
  
• 6' vegetable spray hose without sprayer - part number RP40308GR (gray ferrules), part number RP40308BL (black ferrules), or part number RP40308 (white ferrules)
  
• Vegetable spray cap for the Quick Connect nipple - part number RP40301
• Quick Connect nut and adapter - part number RP41478

Back-to-back installations require that the pressure balancing cartiridge be "flipped" or rotated 180 degrees in order for both units to function properly. Flipping the cartridge will reverse the hot and cold water supply lines so that the faucet works like a traditional hot/cold unit. The cartridge may also be flipped to correct a hot/cold reversal resulting from connecting the supply lines to the incorrect sides of the valve.

 

There are two types of valves. Choose A or B below depending on your series

A. 1300/1400 Series (RP19804)
Here are the steps to follow in reversing the operation of your faucet.

1. Before you begin, make sure that you shut off the water supply to the faucet.
2. Remove the handle. A clear knobs will have a Phillips head screw located just under the plastic cap; a lever handle usually has a small set screw located on the side.
3. Slide off the finished metal (chrome, polished brass, white or almond) sleeve that covers the valve.
4. Unscrew the bonnet nut. The bonnet nut is a large brass ring and should unscrew by hand. If it is too tight, wrap a towel around the bonnet and use a pair of channel locks. Make sure that the entire valve body does not start to rotate as you do this. Remove the bonnet nut.
5. Do not pry the valve cartridge out of the body with a screwdriver. Place the handle on the cartridge stem and rotate it counterclockwise approximately 1/4 turn after the stop has been contacted. Remove the handle. Grasp the brass stem in the center of the white plastic assembly and pull it directly out, away from the wall. The valve cartridge should slide out of the body.
6. Reinstall the cartridge after rotating the entire unit 180 degrees. Make sure that the raised plastic stop, marked "HOT", is on the right side of the valve.
7. Reattach the bonnet nut, trim sleeve, and handle.

B. 1700/1800 Series (RP32104 or RP32106)
Here are the steps to follow in reversing the operation of your faucet.

1. Before you begin, make sure that you shut off the water supply to the faucet.
2. Make sure the water supplies are turned off.
3. Remove the sleeve, bonnet and cartridge. Pull the cap from the cartridge and rotate it 180 degrees or one half turn. Reinstall the cap on the cartridge.
4. Reinstall the cartridge making sure that the key is fully engaged with the slot in the brass body. Be sure the "HOT SIDE" marking on the cartridge is facing toward the right.
5. Install the bonnet and sleeve making sure the O-Ring is behind the groove on the brass valve body.

6. Install the volume control handle with the lever to the right, then turn the handle to the "ON" position. Install the temperature control knob and rotate it to the left. The water should be hotter the further you rotate it to the left.

1. To avoid dangerously hot temperatures, make sure your water heater is set at 120º F or below.
   
2. Install a pressure balance tub and shower valve, such as those found in the broad selection of the Delta® Monitor® series.
   
3. Set the valve’s adjustable rotational limit stop to prevent the temperature handle from being turned to dangerously hot levels.
   
4. Test the tub/shower water with your hand before bathing.

Pinch together at the base of the black plastic halves, next to the hose. The top halves will spread apart. Pull down gently. Release tabs from the brass connector.

If you look under your sink and see black plastic clips or metal nuts on the hoses. If it is plastic clips, you have a quick connect hose. Metal nuts signify a standard thread-on connection.

 

 

Follow these steps:

1. Let the water run until both hot and cold water is fully mixed.

2. Rotate the handle fully counterclockwise to the hottest position.

3. Place a thermometer in a plastic tumbler, and hold the tumbler in the water stream.

   
   

4. If the water temperature is above what is allowed by your local plumbing code (110º F or 120º F), remove the handle on 1300/1400 series or temperature knob on 1700/1800 series, and rotate the rotational limit stop:

   1. Counterclockwise if you have a Monitor® 1300 or 1400 series model (handle controls the temperature only, not the volume). For every tooth the rotational limit stop is rotated counterclockwise, the maximum water temperature will decrease approximately 6º F. NOTE: If water temperature is too cool, rotate the limit stop clockwise.

      
      
      

       

   2. Clockwise if you have a Monitor 1700 or 1800 series model (handle controls volume; temperature knob controls temperature). For every tooth the rotational limit stop is rotated clockwise, the water temperature will decrease approximately 2º F. NOTE: If water temperature is too cool, rotate the limit stop counterclockwise.

   
   

5. For 1300/1400 series: Replace the handle. After verifying the water outlet temperature, secure the handle with the screw. Do not over tighten. For 1700/1800 series: After verifying water outlet temperature, snap temperature knob into place.

6. MAKE SURE COLD WATER FLOWS FROM THE VALVE FIRST. MAKE SURE WATER (AT THE HOTTEST FLOW) DOES NOT EXCEED THE TEMPERATURE ALLOWED (see steps 1-4 above).

The old support assembly, which is the piece you're referring to that goes through the sink, is not large enough for the Quick Connect to pass through. Along with a new Quick Connect hose, you will need a new support assembly that has been enlarged to accommodate the new QC fittings. The new part number for that is RP6015.

The faucet installed must have been manufactured prior to 2003. Changes were made at that time to incorporate quick-connect fittings which have eliminated this issue. If you have an older model, this can occur when the sprayer and water supply hoses connected to the spout are installed incorrectly. If they are installed backwards, the water is running backwards through the diverter. Reverse the way the hoses are connected to the spout.

After testing and research we have found that the process of brazing the tee caused inconsistency with the crimping process. We have begun using a forged tee, which eliminates the inconsistencies in the process solving the leaking problem. You will need a new hose assembly, part number RP34352.

Most likely you have an Americast sink by American Standard. You need to put plumbers cloth between the bottom of the sink and the bracket to allow it to grip. If you have another brand sink, you need to clean between the sink and bracket to get a good surface and tighten down on the bracket nut.

A small gap is normal and necessary to allow proper movement of the handle without damaging the escutcheon below it. An excessive gap results from improper height adjustment at the time of installation. To fix it:

1. Loosen the nut under the counter/sink.

2. Then screw the escutcheon UP just enough to make up the gap.

3. Then re-tighten the nut. This lowers the valve and reduces the gap

On all widespreads the end valves have to be oriented so that the inbound (hard line) is away from the spout and the hose or corrugated line is toward the spout. Otherwise reversing the stem in the valve will not make the handle turn in the right direction.

Another way to check is to look down in the valve and the seat must be away from the spout in both hot and cold valves. If one or both end valves are installed incorrectly the only way to fix is to re-install the bodies in the appropriate orientation.

The spool and sleeve, the part of the Monitor pressure balance valve that blends the hot and cold water, may not be working properly. This can be caused by mineral deposits that build up over time resulting from hard water. To solve, follow the steps below based on your model.

Tools you may need:

1. Shut off water supply.
   
   
   
   
2. There are two types of valves. Choose a or b below depending on your series
   • 1300/1400 Series: Remove handle.
   • 1700/1800 Series: Remove temperature knob, cover and handle.
3. Twist and pull sleeve to remove it.
4. Unscrew brass bonnet nut.
5. Remove cartridge.
6. Soak cartridge in a 50/50 vinegar and water solution for 24 hours to remove any mineral deposits.

NOTE: Unless both hot and cold water supplies are turned on, the pressure balance valve will allow only a dribble of water to flow through the valve.

 

During the first few days you use your faucets, a small amount of debris may be flushed out of your pipe system. This happens even though the plumber flushes the pipes before completing work on your home. In addition, particles of solder, copper chips, plumber's tape and other installation materials can get caught in aerators and showerheads. Occasionally, a chip might damage the valve seat that provides the watertight seal. The tips below will help you avoid problems. These procedures are a good idea to follow each time the water has been turned off for repairs in your home.

TO FLUSH A KITCHEN OR LAVATORY FAUCET:

1. Remove aerator and black sealing gasket above it.
   
   
   
   
2. Turn faucet handle(s) to full on hot and cold mixed position(s) and flush lines for two minutes before turning off water with handle(s).
3. Replace aerator.

TO FLUSH A TUB / SHOWER FAUCET:

1. Remove showerhead if applicable
   
   
   
   
2. Turn handle(s) to full on hot and cold mixed position(s).
3. Flush spout two minutes without moving handle(s).
4. If you have a showerhead, divert water to it and flush for two minutes. BE SAFE! Make sure cold water flows FIRST and that the rotational handle limit stop is properly set. See information on setting the adjustable limit stop.
5. Replace showerhead.

If problems persist, flush the faucet and lines using these instructions:

1. Turn off water supply to both hot and cold.
2. Remove all internal components.
3. Turn water supplies back on and let run for 30-60 seconds. (For kitchen and lavatory faucets turn a bucket or similar large container upside down over faucet to deflect the water into the sink.)
4. Turn water supplies off again.
5. Reassemble faucet.
6. Turn water supplies back on.

The adjustable rotational limit stop found on Delta® Monitor® valves, allows you to set a maximum hot water temperature that flows out of the tub/shower. When set correctly, this safety feature ensures that the handle in your tub/shower faucet never goes beyond the set level, resulting in a safe bathing temperature.

It may need to be readjusted if the inlet water temperatures change. For example, during the winter, the cold water temperature is colder than it is during the summer, which could result in varying outlet temperatures. Typical temperatures for a comfortable bath or shower range from 90º F to 110º F.

How do I set the adjustable limit stop?

Follow these steps:

1. Let the water run until both hot and cold water is fully mixed.

2. Rotate the handle fully counterclockwise to the hottest position.

3. Place a thermometer in a plastic tumbler, and hold the tumbler in the water stream.

The o-ring is in the groove on the valve. Roll it out of the groove toward the wall and the trim sleeve will slide on. The o-ring needs to be able to roll with the movement of the sleeve.

TThe faucet is in the wrong position.
To correct an uninstalled faucet:

• Rotate the spout 180 degrees so the Delta® name appears below the spout.

To correct an installed faucet:

• Shut the water off at the water supplies.
  
• Disconnect the faucet and remove it from the sink.
  
• Rotate the spout 180 degrees so the Delta name appears below the spout and it faces toward the sink.
• Reinstall the faucet.

Most likely, you are experiencing "shower-rise" where the water can’t get out of the spout as fast as it flows through the valve. This causes the water to back up and come out the shower head. There can be one of several reasons for this:

1. The valve could be upside down
2. The length from the valve to the tub spout is outside of the 8" to 18" rule
3. There is more than one 90-degree angle
4. Something other than copper or galvanized pipe was used going to the spout
5. The most common reason is that there is something restricting the water flow to the spout, e.g. solder or something lodged in the pipe. Something is impeding the flow of water to the spout and causing it to back up and go out the shower head. If this is the cause of shower-rise it is possible to remove the blockage by removing the tub spout; then, feeding a plumber’s snake or a speedometer cable up through the tub drop. The act of feeding it causes it to twirl and loosen the blockage. Be sure to flush the valve before reinstalling the tub spout. Be sure to check the tub spout itself for blockage.

If none of these help, you may need to call a plumber.  After the shower has been installed and the wall has been closed, there is little that can be done to remedy this situation yourself.

 

The nipple for the sprayer doesn't have an o-ring. The two hoses for the sprayer and for the spout cannot be interchanged which would cause the spray to not function. The o-ring for the sprayer and a spacer are inside the housing of the sprayer hose.
