Model 980T-SSSD-DST only works when I touch the handle on the side. If I touch the big spout it does not come on. We just had this installed and bought it for the touch feature on the spout which is not working.

Plumber says if I had an H2O leak it would be a bad placement? It also makes the underneath space less usable. Shouldn't the underneath view of the product and assembly reflect the clean lines, care of design and function that you put into the faucet it self. Couldn't you design a cover that would protect the wires and give a shelf for the battery pack? (I consider it a big design flaw) The plumber had to replace the solenoid and the battery pack. Why did you change the battery pack that had 4 "C" batteries and was attached with Velcro to the back of the cabinet with the 6 "AA" batteries that have to sit on the floor? Will this solenoid last longer than the last one? Worried about my selection.

it operated fine until last night it will only operate manually. the blue light operates but the water doesnt turn on/off by touch. i changed batteries and tried the 30 second reset. i actually left the batteries out for about 5 minutes. there was never a red light on. all wiring is connected properly.

a. Tap the spout 6 times within 4 seconds.
b. The LED indicator light will flash red/blue.
c. Tap spout an additional 6 times within 4 seconds of the flashing red/blue LED indicator light.
d. The LED indicator light will flash red/blue a second time to indicate the hands-free mode has been deactivated.
e. The tapping sequence can be done with the handle in the ON or OFF position.
Reactivating -
a. Repeat the tapping sequence outlined under deactivating hands-free mode.

Our kitchen faucet has become quite frustrating. When you touch it to turn on the water flow, the led illuminates and you can hear the solenoid click but no water flows. Sometimes several touches later it will operate normally. This behavior is intermittent sometimes only one touch required. Other times its dysfunctional for days. That's where we are now.
I've reset by disconnecting the batteries for 10 plus minutes.
Replaced the batteries.
Cleaned the valve.
Adjusted the wires to separate them as much as possible.
None of these changes had an immediate obvious impact on the issue.
How can I resolve this so that the faucet works consistently?
