Frequently Asked Questions

Warranty

Does the Delta Faucet Lifetime Limited Warranty cover faucet seats and springs?

The Delta Faucet Lifetime Limited Warranty covers seats and springs only if these have worn prematurely. For an average household with good water quality, these faucet components should last at least five years.

Does the Delta Faucet Lifetime Limited Warranty cover my plumber's labor charges to install the replacement part or replace my faucet?

No, labor charges are not included. The Delta Faucet Lifetime Limited Warranty covers only the replacement faucet or faucet parts.

My faucet is old. Is it covered by The Delta Faucet Lifetime Limited Warranty?

Not if it was manufactured before January 1, 1995. Delta introduced the Lifetime Limited Warranty January 1, 1995. Before that, there was a two-year warranty. The longer warranty coverage is a result of significant improvements in finish technology, manufacturing tolerances and new models designed to provide an extended faucet life.

What does my shower base warranty cover?

All parts and finishes of the Delta® shower base are warranted to the original consumer purchaser to be free from defects in material and workmanship for the time periods listed below.  This warranty is extensive in that it covers replacement of all defective parts and even finish, but these are the only two things that are covered.

What does the Lifetime Limited Warranty mean?

The Delta® Faucet Lifetime Limited Warranty is one of the most extensive in the industry. It covers manufacturer defects in faucet function as well as faucet finish, provided you are the original purchaser. Labor charges and/or damage incurred during installation, repair or replacement are excluded. Also excluded are repair parts resulting from normal wear and tear.

Our Lifetime Limited Warranty applies to Delta faucets manufactured after January 1, 1995.

This warranty applies to faucets for home use only. It excludes industrial, commercial and business use. Faucets used for these purposes are covered by a five-year limited warranty from date of purchase, with all other terms of the standard warranty applying.

Who do I contact if I have a warranty issue with my shower base?

Call 866.909.3845 - The Delta Help Line is available between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. (CST), Monday through Saturday.

 OR

email CustomerService@deltafaucet.com

With a Lifetime Limited Warranty, do I receive a new faucet with my warranty claim?

Delta will replace your faucet with a new faucet if it is still under warranty and it can't be repaired with replacement parts. Our warranty covers replacement of any defective parts whether function or finish is the issue. If your faucet can be repaired with parts, then parts will be sent to you at no charge.

Answer:
Thank you for your question. There were two types of Monitor series Delta Faucets, the 1300/1400 series and the 1700 series. The 1300/1400 series had a single knob that only controlled temperature and the 1700 series had two that sat on top of each other, one controlling temperature and one controlling volume.

Once you detrermine which series you have, you will need to pick a trim staying within that series and you will need to keep your old catridge. The catridge that comes with your new trim will not fit your old valve.

We installed the shower control around 1998 or '99'. we bought the house in "96" so I know it was after that. I was retiling the tub and desided to replace the shower control also. I replaced the seals around 2007 or "08" and it worked fine. Last week I went to retile the tub and I was going to rebuild the control again and I noticed there was a pin hole in one of the little tubes "hot water side" probable caused from the minerals in the water. I took it to a plumbing supply shop and they said there was nothing I could do about it. I don't have the origional reciept, I might have the reciept from when I rebuilt it in 2008 but I can't swear to it. I like the product and how easy it is to repair. We installed a water softener last year and it made a world of difference as far as corrision. Before I found the pin hole I tried to clean the finish on the cover but no luck. Is there anyway you can help me with this? Its the control with the triangular cover where the ball stem comes out instead of the rectangular one.Jim

Thank you for your question. To find the actual tub spout, you will need to search under the bath collection and then drill down to the parts page. On the parts page, you will find the number for the tub spout.

Can a faucet's finish be changed?

I know that trim can be changed on a shower controller without changing the manifold, and a shower head can be simply unscrewed to exchange it with a new one, but can a spigot for a tub and its handles be changed without changing the inner workings if the client wants to get rid of the shiny brass and go with brushed nickel?

Answer:
Thank you for your question. Based on the your picture, it looks like you have a model 2710. There is an anti-swivel pin underneath the spout that if it was installed, you will only be able to replace it with the T2710 in the Chrome finish. If this pin was not installed, then you can replace your trim with any of our roman tub faucets in the Stainless Steel finish.
