Frequently Asked Questions

Water Filtration

Can I connect the Simply PUR spout to another under sink filtration system?

No. The Simply PUR water filtration system was designed only to operate as a complete system and will not function if connected to another filtration unit. If you have a whole house filter or water softener in your home, this will not affect the installation of Simply PUR.

Can Simply PUR water filtration system be connected to an existing faucet installation?

Yes, if there is an available hole in the sink or counter top to place the Simply PUR water filtration system. If there is not an available hole you may consider removing an accessory such as a soap/lotion dispenser, drilling an additional hole in solid surfaces, or replacing the faucet or sink with one that has a hole to accommodate Simply PUR.

Can you run hot water through the Simply PUR water filtration system?

No. Simply PUR should be connected to the cold water supply only. Connecting to hot water will decrease the effectiveness of the filter.

How easy/difficult is it to install Simply PUR?

The Simply PUR system is relatively simple to install -- no more difficult than a faucet installation. All hoses, connectors and mounting hardware are included in the box. Below is a brief summary of the installation process. See the Owners Manual for complete details.
  1. Mount the filter spout to the sink/counter top. This takes one mounting nut.

  2. Mount the below the sink filtration system to the cabinet wall in a location that is easy to access for replacing filters (typically just inside the cabinet door). This is the most difficult part of the installation and requires 2 screws to be installed in the cabinet wall to support the mounting bracket. Install the filter and batteries (included) into the filter system.

  3. Make hose connections. Most connections use Quick Connect® or other fittings that do not require tools.

  4. Connect the system to the cold water supply. A brass "T" is provided to allow the faucet and filter system to both be connected to the cold water. This hose connection requires a wrench.

  5. Test and flush the system and it is ready for use.

Answer:
I had the same problem with the identical faucet -- while cooking our feast on Christmas Eve. I, too, cleaned the screens thinking that must be the problem but it persisted. I also discovered that I had full water pressure when using the cold water but barely more than a trickle when using the hot water. Thank goodness the problem was intermittent and I could get water about half of the times that I tried!

I phoned Delta at 1-800-345-3358 and discovered that my two-year-old faucet is still under warranty. The Customer Service representative was very knowledgeable and helpful. He ordered the part that needed replacing -- a DIAMOND Seal Technology Single Handle Cartridge (Part # RP50587) and had it sent to me at no charge.

He also had me write down instructions for locating the video on the Delta website which would guide me through the replacement of the part.

I couldn't be more pleased! Delta's beautiful and innovative faucets, well-made and reliable products with warranties, and their superior Customer Service process will cause me to always select Delta products in the future. I wouldn't buy anything else!
