Are the threaded rods permanently connected to the plate?

Are the threaded rods permanently connected to the plate? Or can I unscrew them and use the cover plate with a one-hole installation? Thanks.

Hi Ben, Thank you for your question. The threaded rods in the RP75614 escutcheon plate that comes with the model 1158LF faucet can be removed.
