Trinsic Single Handle Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet 4.4 5 8 8
Best looking and functioning faucet! We renovated our kitchen and I purchased this faucet to specifically coordinate with my hardware. Much to my surprise it works wonderfully well. I would buy this faucet over and over again. August 29, 2014
Perfect, beautiful, easy to install As a woman, I picked out a faucet based on how well the sprayer would go back into the faucet without it hanging out later on, when it starts to wear out. Never did I think it would be as easy as it was to install. I thought perhaps I would have to hire someone, but with a little bit of reading of the directions and the ease in which to hook up the water lines, as well as installing the actual faucet, it was a snap for even I to do. Took me no time at all and it was perfect. December 6, 2013
wasn't my first choice I had been looking for a faucet that was more user friendly than my prior one. But I had in my mind I still wanted something similar. My previous faucet had a straighter line and the hose pulled out straight across instead of down. It was my style..modern but not too art deco. When the store I purchased it in didn't have anything to my liking in stock, I had to reassess what I wanted. I really didn't want an art deco design, but my choices were very limited. I needed to purchase one that day since my old faucet was completely broken and we were also replacing the sink the same day. When I saw this was pretty much my only choice, I was a bit depressed since I really didn't like the look. It reminded me of a laboratory faucet. But once we installed it my mind was changed. I love the fact that the hose pulled down right into the drain. I also loved that I didn't really have to pull it out the faucet, I could just pivot it to clear away debris. When using my old faucet, while using the hose, sometimes it would slip out of my hand, since it was so big and bulky. It was like trying to tame an octopus. The water would spray all over the kitchen as well as my clothes. It was always such a big mess. This faucet is very sleek and won't slip out of your hand. But even if it did, the hose faces down so water will only spray in the sink. I would recommend this to everyone January 12, 2014
Looks good, but drips... Great looking modern faucet that gets lots of compliments. It drips however, and sometimes has a random spray when in standard faucet mode. You have to really press down hard to make sure it is not in spray mode to prevent this. Even when not using the spry mode in awhile, it will randomly drip from it. January 28, 2013
A faucet very well conceived. A great acquisition for our kitchen. Especially appreciate the magnetic lock of the pull-down. The low flow water rate is more of an urban advantage, not so useful in the country with artesian well; but I guess we will grow accustomed to it. January 2, 2014
A quality product I really like the look and the quality of the product. At first I thought it would look too big and clunky but in reality it looks just fine. The only thing that i might adjust if possible is the ease in which the faucet rotates. it can be too easily be swung by accident. maybe it's just my unit. February 17, 2015
Uncomfortable but it looks pretty I can't believe all the positive reviews on the design, it is uncomfortable to turn off or on, when your hands are wet you will bring water to the counter stone as you turn off the water. Bad ergonomic design but looks pretty. December 26, 2014
Best kitchen faucet I have ever owned There not much to say when it's the best kitchen faucet I have ever owned. Functionality and style stand out above all others as does quality of the product. June 25, 2014

Does the Faucet rotate / swivel at the base?

Or is the angle that it is installed in, the permanent angle that it remains.

Is up (12 o'clock) supposed to be hot or cold?

We have the trinsic in our kitchen and love it! My mother in law was over recently and said that it was installed incorrectly and that hot is supposed to be up (as in handle at 12 o'clock) and cold is supposed to be down (as in pulled toward you). Is this correct?

Answer:
Hi TC, Thank you for your question. When the handle on the model 9159-CZ-DST is at the 12 o'clock position the faucet is actually off. To turn the water on you pull the handle to the right. The cold water starts there and gets hotter as you pull the handle forward. Your current installation is correct.

Dave

Hi H, Thank you for your question. Our RP63263 adapter kit should work for your needs. The 2 sets of adapters convert the 3/8" compression thread on the faucet to either 1/2" compression or 1/2" IPS thread.

Is there a version of this faucet with only a 7 or 8 inch reach?

I want something like this for a smaller sink. If a variation on this faucet does not exist, can you point me to a similar pull-out faucet with a 7 or 8 inch reach?

Flow rate

I had this faucet installed in a kitchen remodel. It's beautiful and looks great in my kitchen. It works great in "spray" mode, but in the "regular" flow seems very slow/weak to me. Could something be wrong with the faucet, or the installation? I read in one of the customer reviews that the flow seems to be somewhat of a "low flow". I'm just wondering if this is intended, or if we did something wrong. Thanks!

Answer:
Hi Laura, Thank you for your question. The 9159-AR-DST has a max flow rate of 1.8 gallaons per minute. Older model faucets had flow rates of 2.2 to 2.5 gpm. This may be some of the difference that you are seeing. We recommend removing the wand assembly and turning on the faucet to flush the lines. Make sure that there is no debris in the wand affecting the flow as well.
Thanks,
Dave

How far over sink does it project?

Without using the pull-out, how far over the sink does the faucet extend? In other words, what is the distance from the hole in the counter to the stream of water? I need a faucet that will clear the edge of my sink and not be too close

Answer:
Hi CharlieQW, Thank you for your question. The main difference between the 9159-AR-DST and the 19935-SSSD-DST is in the styling of the faucet. Both faucets are pulldown spray models with magnedock, touch clean sprayheads, and our Diamand Seal Technology cartridges.

spray hose composition

within 5 years, our current faucet hose deteriorated, possibly chlorine in the city water was the blame.
What is the trinsic 9159-dst spray hose made of?
What are the supply hoses made of?
How long will they last in chlorine water?
Too, how much room do I need to operate the on/off lever?
How much room do I need between the lever and soap dispenser?
thank you

Answer:
Hi Anna, Thank you for your question. The spray hose is made of an ultracore liner. The ultracore liner was developed to be resistance to chlorine and chloramines. The supply tubes are PEX (cross linked Polyethylene) which are also designed to be chlorine and chloramine resistant. Both the hoses and the supply lines are covered under the lifetime warranty for the product.
The handle needs 1-1/2" of clearance to the rear and will extend out 4-3/8" to the right of the faucet centers. If you are placing the soap dispenser to the left of the spout 4" centers would be a normal distance. If you are placing the soap dispenser to the right , 6" centers should give you enough space. I have attached a link to the spec sheet for the model 9159-DST below.

Dave
