This 9159T-DST came with our new home 1.5 years ago. The first few month worked fine. Then the touch sensor went bad - came on and off randomly. We put it to manual mode by turning on the faucet and disconnected the batteries. By the way we change brand new Duracell batteries every time we troubleshoot knowing this was one of the techniques used in the forum. This went by a few months. Then water stopped to a drip. We reversed the polarity on the solenoid suggested by the forum. It worked for a few days. Today it finally quit - you can hear the solenoid kicked in and out according to touch, the light is blue, just water is only dripping out. Buying a manual one from now on.

I have had the Delta touch faucets (can't remember the name) in the past in two of my homes and absolutely loved it. Never had one problem. I currently live in a brand new home and purchased this faucet and I absolutely hate it!!!!! It is very temperamental, and frustrating to use. I constantly have to manually turn it on and off which defeats the purpose of having a touch activated faucet. According to the plumbing company that installed the faucet, it did not come with any directions which I find strange. My other faucet not only came with directions it came with a dvd to show me how to operate it. If I could swap this faucet out and get the old Delta touch I would in a heart beat!!!!!

I picked this faucet as part of a kitchen remodel. I had problems with the touch technology soon after installation. Faucet #1 was repaired twice and replaced once. Faucet #2, same issues but this time the plumber had the same faucet in his home (with the same problems) and disabled the touch technology so I could keep the faucet. It started leaking on Mother's Day while we were preparing for brunch. Plumber arrived day after and after some time testing and evaluating said the problem is inside the faucet and recommended replacement. This time I am replacing with a different brand.

Faucet has worked well for about 2 years. Minor erratic off / on scenarios, but no real issue. After 2 years, we noticed water under the sink. Somewhere in the cartridge to bonnet interface, it is leaking. Under warranty, new cartridge and hose was sent. Installed the new cartridge and now it leaks worse than before. For what it cost, it should not have leaked in the first place. Disappointed. Tech person is sending more parts, notably a seal that he says is on the parts diagram but I don't see. A seal between the cartridge and bonnet. I will update this review after resolution.

I've read most all of the other reviews, and experienced some of the same issues shortly after it was installed by a contractor. I was getting more and more frustrated with it (wouldn't come on, wouldn't shut off, came on by it's self, etc,) and was ready to call delta customer assistance. Instead, I downloaded the installation/owner manual and read the electronic section carefully. After making two changes, described in the manual, it worked perfectly. I moved the battery pack at least 2" from the sides of the cabinet sides and moved the wires further apart from each other. I believe most of the issues that others have had are all related to the installation of the faucet rather than the faucet or electronics.

My kitchen remodel isn't quite done but my sink and Delta faucet were installed about a week ago. I bought this faucet for the Touch2O feature and because the style is sleek and simple. The Touch2O is awesome and will take some time to get used to as I've never had this feature before. I look forward to the ease of use during food prep when my kitchen is complete. I'm curous as to how long the 6 AA batteries will last- they are needed for the Touch2O feature. My contractor installed the faucet so I can't speak to the ease of installation. July 2012

The "touch" feature of this faucet only worked reliably for the first few months after installation and now it practically is unusable. The trouble has been twofold: first, while the "touch" feature originally could be activated by touching any part of the unit, now the faucet only activates when we touch the base of the unit. Second, even when we touch the base, the faucet does not always respond. Often, it turns off even when we do not touch the faucet. I would love to know if this is a solenoid valve issue that could be fixed by replacing the valve.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Nate Early failure of one solenoid was rapidly addressed
We have 2 of these faucets in the kitchen. On one faucet, the touch2O solenoid became erratic, not always operating correctly when the faucet was cold. (ie hot water always worked correctly). Delta quickly sent a replacement part and we've had excellent function since.
The other faucet has always performed flawlessly. It is extremely handy in the ktichen, when hands may be contaminated and you still want to turn on the water without putting meat covered hands on the faucet.
One word of warning: One of our cats has started touching his nose to the faucet to start it running. We had to turn off the faucet manually for a couple weeks to prevent him from learning how to turn on the water. Don't let cats learn how to use them, they don't turn them off again.
