Leland Single Handle Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet 4.6 5 24 24
I love my new faucet! I recently purchased the Delta Leland single handle kitchen faucet. I chose the chrome finish to match my older sink. I have been very pleased with it. I love the magnetic docking system. It always clicks tightly after retracting the spray head. It looks beautiful, and doesn't drip. I did not install it myself, as I was not replacing the sink, and removing the old faucet was a bit tricky. But the plumber told me he loved installing Delta faucets. I highly recommend this faucet. Solid, sturdy, works beautifully. I love this faucet! I am very picky about plumbing fixtures, and worried that all the parts weren't in the package since it obviously was a return; the bags were open and parts strewn around. However, the plumber checked carefully and it was complete. This faucet is pretty and works smoothly, with easy-on and off, it has super water pressure and is such an improvement over my old, cheap faucet. My handyman said I could have installed it myself, but I found the instructions to be poorly-written, dense, and difficult to follow. He did fine with them, however. The poor instructions are my only complaint. A glossary would have been nice for those with limited plumbing vocabulary. June 14, 2014
Great Faucet and Great Look I love this faucet, it goes with different styles and looks in the kitchen. The magnet docking keeps the faucet looking nice and never dangling. This faucet is ideal for looks and price. July 11, 2012
Looks great in my kitchen! I've had this faucet in my kitchen for a few years now. (Not sure of the exact date) It's worked fine and looked great... up until now. But it's not that bad. The faucet does not seem to 'snap shut' (closed) when I push the handle. It does shut the water off, but I need to 'hunt' for that certain spot before it shuts off completely. It's not a big deal and I know it's an easy fix with the necessary part available for free from Delta. I'll get to it soon. Still... I do like this faucet very much. November 8, 2014
I'd buy it again Great Faucet. Looks good functions well and is all I could ask for. The water temperature is sensitive and makes it difficult to get the water temp just right. This is partially because I was not used to the control being on the side. If I was buying again, I would get the Touch ON/OFF. That way when I got the temp set, just a touch turns it on and off. April 7, 2014
all in all a very nice faucet the only misgiving that I have is the pull out wand. I would like the pull down to retract by itself instead of having to feed it back to the loading dock. the wand will retract when it gets to within 3-5 inches of the dock which is nice. it's the other 12 inches that are a pain. September 3, 2013
Works great I love having this all in one. It is easy to manuver and clean. February 5, 2014
looks great I did a lot of research before purchasing this faucet. some of the complaints were low water flow, and difficulty shutting it off. I find no problem with the water flow (we have a well and perhaps are used to low water pressure). I do occasionally find that I do not completely shut off the faucet--you have to hit the exact right spot or it dribbles. That has only happened a few times and it is obvious and easily remedied. The final reason that I chose a Delta over a Moen is that the Delta uses a magnet to secure the pull out spray. This alone makes the faucet worth it--you will never have a dangling spray hose! The faucet looks very modern and sleek August 24, 2014

Hi Kim, Thank you for your question. The cache aerator on the wand of your model 9178-DST is removeable. The faucet shipped with a small blue t-shaped wrench that will help unscrew the aerator. If you do not have the wrench it can be orderd as RP50815.

Answer:
Hi Diane, Thank you for your question. There is a slight difference between the Delta Faucet Stainless Steel finish and the Delta Faucet Artic Stainless finish. Stainless Steel has a gold tone to it and is mostly used in the bath. Artic Stainless has a blue tint to it and more closely matches stainless steel appliances out in the market today. It is only used in the kitchen.

Does the Model # 9178-AR-DST come with a cover/escutcheon?

I see where a previous questioner was told that the stainless steel (SS) model comes with an escutcheon. But, does the Arctic Steel as well?

I read a review of the Model # 9178-AR-DST on an authorized retailer's site that complained that their AR did NOT come with the escutcheon, which I believe is a cover that sits at the base of the faucet, to cover any additional holes used by a previously-installed faucet. The photograph of the faucet does NOT show such a cover. Thank you!

Sprayer

Can you give me instructions for cleaning debris out of the sprayer? The pressure has greatly decreased in just a few weeks and I'm sure it is caused by some debris. I can't seem to get the washer out.

Answer:
Hi Chris, Thank you for your question. Your model 9178-DST faucet should come with a small t handle wrench to remove the aerator. This wrench comes as a replacement part RP50815. You can soak the aerator and wand in a 50/50 solution of vinegar and water to help break down the mineral build up.

Hi Carly, Thank you for your question. The model 9178-RB-DST comes with an aerator with a flow rate of 1.8 gpm. You can order RP53998 which is a 2.2 gpm aerator to raise the flow rate for this particular model. None of our pull down faucets come with a flow rate of 2.2 gpm.

Answer:
Hi Alevine,
Thank you for your question. The Artic stainless finish will have a blue tint to it, while the stainless steel will have a gold tint. Both finishes are durable and warrantied for the life of the faucet to the original purchaser. The faucets are finished in stainless steel, not made of stainless.

Dave

We installed this faucet with a base plate to cover pre-drilled holes. We are remodeling with granite countertops and want a single hole installation. We no longer have the box or other parts. What do we need to install this properly? Is an adapter needed?

Thank you for your question. To convert your Delta Faucet model # 9197-DST to a single hole mount, you will need to purchase model # RP52610 which is the trim ring and base. This can be ordered and purchased from your local retailer or wholesaler.

the multi use wrench which is supplied with the faucet is the only tool you will need for installation. if you install the faucet before the sink is set in place you will have an easier time installing the faucet with or w/o the wrench.

Pull down sprayer

Does this model have or do any delta pull-down faucets (with the magnetic feature) also have a sprayer that has an on-off button? What I'm looking for is a pull-down which has both the magnetic feature AND spray with on-off switch and aeration options. Thanks.

Thank you for your question. We do not manufacture any pull-down faucets that have a button you can push to turn the faucet on and off. We do manufacture several touch faucets that are electronic and also have a magnetic wand feature. Check the website for Touch2O Technology faucets.

Answer:
The Leland faucet has a selector switch for aerated spray or full...and the spray isn't a wide spray meaning it's very controlable even when not pulled out of the magnetic base. Included in the box is a tool for removing the aerator portion for cleaning of calcium/lime deposits. Suggest using vinegar for the disolving of these deposits and not a "lime away" type chemical. I don't know if the finish would be harmed by the "lime away" product but I'm not willing to experiment.

Answer:
Thank you for your question. The difference between the 19978-SSSD-DST and the 9178-AR-DST is the 19978-SSSD-DST is a Stainless Steel finish and includes a soap dispenser. Delta Faucet model # 9178-AR-DST is the Artic Stainless finish and does not include the soap dispenser.

The difference between the two finishes is the Artic Stainless has a bluish tint and more closely resembles the stainless steel color of today appliances in the market. Stainless Steel finish has a golder tint to it.
