Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 58 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by I love this faucet! I looked at many different models before purchasing this Delta faucet. The faucet works great and still looks like new 3 years later. The only complaint that I have is that the cartridge had to be replaced early on. I felt like it should have lasted a bit longer. Delta sent me a new cartridge, a benefit that I really like. Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Faucet, Easy Install! I work for a New Residential plumbing company and we install these faucets, along with the Leland Single hole Kitchen Faucet, in half of the houses we have. We have never had any warranty calls or any issues with this faucet. I highly recommend it. February 3, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Beautiful Faucet Love this beautiful faucet! Would recommend to anyone who want a quality faucet! May 8, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Really like my new faucet. I would buy another Delta product. When I was looking for a new kitchen faucet our plumber suggested looking at Delta because of the quality you get for the price. As I began looking at faucets I preferred Deltas faucet designs and was impressed with the features on the faucets. The chrome finish is beautiful and easy to care for. There are several features I enjoy having on my new faucet. I love the pull down spray feature, the hose is nice and long, the two spray settings are wonderful ,and the swivel spout adds extra convienience. June 12, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Drippy faucet after a few years The faucet is beautiful! After a few years of use, it is a drippy faucet requiring constant monitoring to make sure we aren't leaving the house or going to bed with a drippy faucet wasting water. October 29, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Simple Install Unit works well, as described, installed easily, and looks good. Could not ask for mor3e July 12, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect faucet for us! Bought this about a month ago and just love it. The installer said it was very easy to install and he likes it better than the one he has. We have 2 holes in our granite countertop, so this was perfect. My husband is left handed, I am right - and it works well for both of us. I also highly recommend a pull-down vs. a pull-out hose/sprayer. By pulling it down, instead of out and then down, the sprayer is already facing the direction that you want (down vs. out) and once you use it, the magnetic catch lets it go back into the faucet docking very easily. We have brushed nickel and there's no water spots at all. Love it! September 12, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by DELTA 978-DST - Leland Diamond Pull Out Spray We had an old kitchen faucet that broke after only 3 years, and we searched the internet to find the Leland Diamond by Delta. It seemed to meet our needs and certainly has. It was reasonably simple to install (no surprises) and the single handle makes on/off and temperature adjustment easy. The gooseneck faucet with pull out spray is very nice too. I would rate this as a definite choice provided you are looking for a two hole faucet with single handle. We are very satisfied with the product. March 30, 2011

Salesperson mentioned a lower water pressure model and the 1.8 which was recommended.

I have very good water pressure. My concern is splashing in 2 bowl sink (7" deep or especially the small 5" deep.

Should I purchase the lower pressure item. Will it last as well?

Advice?

Answer:
Hi Phyllis,

Thank you for your question. The model Water Efficient (1.5 gpm) version of this faucet is model number 978-WE-DST. Splashing should not be an issue in most instances. However, the 978-WE-DST has a lower water velocity, which helps prevent splashing.

Answer:
Hello WWA,

Thank you for your question!

The 9978-DST is a bar/prep faucet generally used in smaller side sinks. As a result, the faucet itself is much smaller than the 978-DST, which is the regular kitchen sink faucet. You can take a look at each faucet's Technical Specifications for further details.

I hope this helps!

Hi Bob,

Thank you for your question. If any water is splashed on the counter-top, the spout gasket helps keep it from seeping under the spout. It should not be visible when installed.

Does the RP53998 2.2gpm aerator fit this faucet?

An answer for the very similar 9178-RB-DST said "The model 9178-RB-DST comes with an aerator with a flow rate of 1.8 gpm. You can order RP53998 which is a 2.2 gpm aerator to raise the flow rate for this particular model."

Will the RP53998 aerator fit the 978-AR-DST ?

Thanks!

The specs say that this needs two four inch center holes. Can it be 5 inch centers?

When my granite was installed, the installers put my sprayer and the faucet at 5 inch centers. I really like this Leland faucet for my new faucet.

Answer:
Hi jasimek, Thank you for your question. It sounds like either the set screw is not tight enough, or the screw is not in contact with the stem portion of the dst cartridge. Make sure the cartridge is seated properly, and that the bonnet and sleeve assembly are tightened correctly. The handle set screw should attach to the cartridge stem on the flat portion of the stem preventing the handle from spinning. I have attached a link to the parts breakdown for the model 978-DST to help you with your repair.
Thanks,
Dave

Difference in finishes

What is the difference between your arctic stainless finish and your stainless finish? Does one match stainless steel appliances better than the other?

Answer:
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet Artic Stainless finish has a bluish tint to it and does more closely resemble the stainless steel appliances that are out in the market today.

Delta Faucet Stainless Steel finish has a more gold finish to it and is used in the bathroom to match the gold toned finishes there.
