Rated 5 out of 5 by Pilar Single Handle Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet with Touch2O® Technology and Soap Dispenser (908T-SD-DST) Installed the touch feature faucet as part of a kitchen remodel. Started having issues with the touch feature not working. Went through the basic troubleshooting, wiring, batteries, plumbing, etc. to determine the problem, ultimately being the solenoid. Emailed customer support and they responded within the next business day with an inquiry on model and troubleshooting tips. Once the solenoid was determined to be the problem, they immediately shipped one out, no questions asked. The support was great and I am installing one of these units in my sons house next. I now touch the faucet everywhere I go, thinking they are all touch response. I work in a lot of hospitals and I would think these would be mandated to help alleviate the spread of germs, just a thought. Nice job Jessica with Delta customer support! May 9, 2014

The one in the bathroom (538T-DST) has a leak that will never stop and eroded away most of the pretty part of the faucet in the first one year. Now the one in the kitchen, this 980T-SSSD-DST Pilar Single Handle Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet with Touch2O Technology and Soap- Stainless model, spent a few months not turning off when we touched it. Recently it won't let any water through the faucet! I am frantically searching for a post or manual to tell me how to get my kitchen sink back. Help! What has happened? Rated 5 out of 5 by Love this faucet! Installed faucet in 2009 and until today never had a problem. We called Delta and they are shipping part to fix problem - slow water flow. I would not trade this faucet as it is so convenient to use, especially when you have touched raw meat and want to activate the faucet without touching it. Delta help line has always been responsive and knowledgeable; I am satisfied with both the service and the product. March 18, 2013

Can't be the 'manual' valve at the faucet; turning to full off at point works fine. None of the supply lines are leaking. Solenoid wires aren't touching. Worked perfect until now. Went to use faucet this morning but after using the Touch 2.0 I have a leaky faucet - steady for the last 30 mins. Is this a solenoid issue? Are my batteries failing already? Help? Too much money paid for this to be failing. Had replaced an old school faucet that went 8 years before any issues. Didnt get the Pilar, I got the other one - can't remember the exact name. Rated 3 out of 5 by Sink Pulsating I have the delta polar touch less model and it keeps pulsating when on and it happens when the water temp is on both hot and cold. I have replaced the batteries and it is still doing it. Can you please advise how to troubleshoot the issue or if this is a manufacture defect? I have loved my faucet up to this point. Rated 4 out of 5 by Solenoid Issues early on The unit was installed on November 16th of 2015 and in January of 2016, it drips when you attempt to shut it off using the touch technology. You have to actually move the lever to an off position to stop all flow. The Customer Service is excellent, as when I called in my issues, they were very quick to obtain all info and put a replacement part in the mail to me. I received it within 10 days of my call to them. I am hopeful that this will resolve the issue and we can enjoy using this faucet for years to come. Aside from the dripping issue, it works great and we do like the features. If it had not been for this issue, I would have rated it excellent across the board. February 5, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Looks great, works ok This faucet is gorgeous and beautiful and I love it even though the touch feature is picky, moody and iffy. The handle works by touch about 90% of the time. The spout worked at about 70% for a week and now is about a 5%. I don't use the feature much anymore since it doesn't work very well. Sometimes the water just turns off. it turned off when I walked away for a second but then sometimes it turns off when I am standing right there. Is there a motion sensor somewhere? I just can't figure it out. I love this faucet even though the touch doesn't work very well. The temp light indicator is cool. Price is outrageous at $700, especially for one that doesn't work well. The TempSense light stays blue. It does not change colour when the water temp changes

Hi,

I bought the 980T-SD-DST. I love this tap but the light stays blue even when the water is hot. Is the solenoid defective?

Thank you for your question! The function of the light has been updated. Units manufactured prior to 2015 will show a blue light when the water is running and a red light when the batteries need to be replaced.

Hi Linda, Thank you for your question!
This faucet includes an integrated handle limit stop that has two positions. Position 1, to the left, allows full handle motion (the full range between “all cold” to “all hot”). The faucet
is set in position 1 in the factory. Position 2, to the right, allows half of the normal handle
motion (“all cold” to “mixed hot/cold”).
The handle limit stop can be adjusted by the homeowner once the faucet is installed.
Setting the handle limit stop in position 2 may help to prevent scalding because it limits
the amount of hot water in the mix; however, this handle limit stop will not always prevent
scalding because it does not compensate for incoming pressure or sudden water
temperature changes.
To change positions of the handle limit stop: remove the handle; move the valve stem
to the all cold position so the water is on; change the position of the handle limit stop; turn
off the water; reinstall the handle.

Thank you for your question. The check valves are required with this unit, since the handle is left in the on position when the faucet is off. They will not affect the flow rate through the faucet or the water pressure elsewhere in the home.

how can I adjust my faucet so there is more adjustment between scalding hot and cold.

there seems to very little adjustment between scalding and cold,
only a tiny mid-point that is hard to regulate.
What can I do to get more hot-to-cold adjustment ?

Hi Mike, Thank you for your question. Turning the faucet to high flow to set the temperature will give you wider range to make the adjustment. You can then lower the water volume once the temperature is at the desired level.

Hi Will, Thank you for your question. The model 980T-SD-DST has a flow rate of 1.8 gpm. We offer the RP63886 aerator at 1.0 gpm, RP60729 at 0.5 gpm, and the RP72676 at 0.35 gpm that will offer lower flow options.

If the arc of the faucet is in contact with a wooden window sill, will this interfere with the Touch Feature?

I am considering purchasing this model of faucet, but there is a chance that after installation, the arc of the faucet neck will be in contact or very close (within 1/4") of contacting a wooden window sill that is located behind the faucet. Will this interfere with the touch feature of the faucet?

Hi Jan, Thank you for your question. Here are some Frequently Asked Questions anout Touch2O Technology.

How do I turn it off and on?
You may choose to operate the faucet as you would any standard single-handle faucet by moving the handle to the on and off positions. You may also tap it on and off with a deliberate touch, like that of playing the piano.

How do I control water flow?
You control water flow manually with the handle, just as you would operate any standard faucet. When operating the faucet in “Touch” mode, the water flow setting remains the same as the previous use.

How do I control water temperature?
You control the water temperature manually with the handle, just as you would any standard faucet. When operating the faucet in “Touch” mode, the water temperature setting remains the same as the previous use.

Are there any safety features?
Touch2O® Technology incorporates an automatic water flow shut-off after four minutes if the water is left running with no activity.

Do I need an electrician? What about a plumber?
No. The installation process is just like installing a regular pull-down faucet with an addition of one more component and a few easy-to-connect wires. Because the faucet works on batteries, there is no need to hire an electrician to assist with the installation. Even the batteries are included. What’s the difference between Touch2O® and Touch2O.xt™ Technology?
You know that static discharge you experience in the winter after walking on carpet and then touching a metal object? That is the result of a characteristic for storing energy in the human body called “capacitance.” Touch2O® Technology uses capacitance sensors to detect human touch and turn the faucet on and off. But don’t worry, it won’t give you a static poke!

Please note that the answer to question 6 doesn't match the question (presumably a copy/paste error).

From what I understand, the difference between Touch2O and Touch2O.xt is that the latter *additionally* offers touch-*less* operation through a proximity sensor (wave your hands underneath the spout to activate).

Hi Tag, Thank you for your question. The model 980T-SSSD-DST is a regular kitchen faucet with Touch2O Technology. The handle position will dictate water temperature cold, warm, or hot whether turned on manually or by touch.
