Rated 4 out of 5 by Solenoid Issues early on The unit was installed on November 16th of 2015 and in January of 2016, it drips when you attempt to shut it off using the touch technology. You have to actually move the lever to an off position to stop all flow. The Customer Service is excellent, as when I called in my issues, they were very quick to obtain all info and put a replacement part in the mail to me. I received it within 10 days of my call to them. I am hopeful that this will resolve the issue and we can enjoy using this faucet for years to come. Aside from the dripping issue, it works great and we do like the features. If it had not been for this issue, I would have rated it excellent across the board. February 5, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Getting water flow from faucet very inconsistent I was thrilled with the idea of a touch technology faucet. When I remodeled my kitchen I purchased the Delta Pilar with great expectations (even though it was very pricey). It's beautiful to look at and when it works, its great. But most of the time I touch the faucet for water, a very small trickle comes out. Blue light comes on but no water. Have changed batteries many times to no avail. It's now become so annoying that I'm ready to throw it away and purchase another brand. I never know if it will flow correctly and it's getting worse and worse. Can't believe a product that costs so much can be so bad. January 17, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Okay, but wish it sprayed down straight and not outward My husband loves the touchless feature, but it doesn't work well when wearing kitchen gloves. The black at the bottom edge luckily matches my black granite. The soap dispenser stopped working and Delta sent a replacement insert that wasn't this exact product, so it was useless. The faucet sprays outward instead of down. If I'm rinsing, myself and the counter get soaked if the sprayer is completely up. To get around this, I leave the sprayer hanging 6 inches lower so it sprays straight down. This makes it look like the faucet pull-down sprayer is broken. I'm looking into replacing this faucet. Rated 3 out of 5 by Touch2O® Technology seems to have issues I just installed this product yesterday (9/24/2013). It does work but not exactly as advertised e.g. "..Turns on and off with just a touch anywhere on the spout or handle". Turning the faucet off or on is inconsistent at best. The spout does not seem to be sensitive enough to the touch to operate reliably however, the handle is somewhat better. I thought it might be low batteries but I get a blue light which I believe indicates the power level is adequate. I also practiced the "tap" rather than the "grasp" touch but again inconsistent. Some parts of the spout do not activate the solenoid at all. Is there a way to increase the sensitivity? I would appreciate any assistance you could provide. September 25, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Will never be without one again I love this product!! Purchased one for a kitchen remodel about 3 years ago. Was a little concerned with how long the batteries would last, I have only had to change them once. I am now building a new home and the first thing I told my builder was "a Delta touch faucet is an absolute must!" I can't imagine not having one and think it will be helpful in the sale of this home. It's very attractive (I have stainless), friends like to come over and play with it lol. I was also concerned that it could run forever if turned on by accident but it does shut itself off after a bit, about the time it takes to fill my under mount sink 3/4 full. Can't say enough good things about this faucet. You MUST get one!!! March 16, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent product I purchased this product not only for its convenience but for the fact that I can turn on and off the flow of water using only the back of my hand or forearm. This was very important to my wife and I as we were always worried about cross-contamination when cleaning a turkey or chicken at the sink and using our hands to turn on and off the water, This product has eliminated that problem by letting us use the back of our hand or forearm .I have been using this faucet since early 2010 and have never had a problem with it, never even having to change the batteries yet. A great innovation! June 13, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great faucet & great support! We did a whole house remodel in 2009 and one of my "presents" to myself was this faucet #saw the first commercial for it as we were discussing the kitchen and immediately wanted it#. It has been a godsend when needing to turn on the water with either extremely filthy hands or hands that were full. We've had a couple of issues with the solenoid#s# going bad #we just ordered our 2nd in 3 years# but Delta has been extremely helpful everytime I've called - from detailed instructions to quick service. We have changed the batteries twice #with the 1st solenoid replacement a new battery pack was sent replacing C cell with D cell batteries# and I would definately purchase another Delta Touch2O faucet in the future! December 3, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Love the functionality and look - mechanics a bit clunky The faucet has been a wonderful addition to our kitchen. After two years I have two criticisms. First, the mechanical parts under the sink have a very "unfinished" feel - there are wires and connections which feel haphazard. The unit should really have a more finished design for under the sink. The other criticism is with the sprayer. The sprayer/diffuser (the rubberized piece which is responsible for creating spray) has failed and needs to be replaced. This won't be a big deal to fix but I expected it to last a bit longer. Still, love the faucet and would purchase again. May 26, 2013

Answer:
Hi Linda, Thank you for your question!
This faucet includes an integrated handle limit stop that has two positions. Position 1, to the left, allows full handle motion (the full range between “all cold” to “all hot”). The faucet
is set in position 1 in the factory. Position 2, to the right, allows half of the normal handle
motion (“all cold” to “mixed hot/cold”).
The handle limit stop can be adjusted by the homeowner once the faucet is installed.
Setting the handle limit stop in position 2 may help to prevent scalding because it limits
the amount of hot water in the mix; however, this handle limit stop will not always prevent
scalding because it does not compensate for incoming pressure or sudden water
temperature changes.
To change positions of the handle limit stop: remove the handle; move the valve stem
to the all cold position so the water is on; change the position of the handle limit stop; turn
off the water; reinstall the handle.

The TempSense light stays blue. It does not change colour when the water temp changes

Hi,

I bought the 980T-SD-DST. I love this tap but the light stays blue even when the water is hot. Is the solenoid defective?

Hi DeltaRocks!,

Thank you for your question! The function of the light has been updated. Units manufactured prior to 2015 will show a blue light when the water is running and a red light when the batteries need to be replaced.

Answer:
Hi unity,

Thank you for your question. The check valves are required with this unit, since the handle is left in the on position when the faucet is off. They will not affect the flow rate through the faucet or the water pressure elsewhere in the home.

Thanks,
Jon

Hi Mike, Thank you for your question. Turning the faucet to high flow to set the temperature will give you wider range to make the adjustment. You can then lower the water volume once the temperature is at the desired level.

If the arc of the faucet is in contact with a wooden window sill, will this interfere with the Touch Feature?

I am considering purchasing this model of faucet, but there is a chance that after installation, the arc of the faucet neck will be in contact or very close (within 1/4") of contacting a wooden window sill that is located behind the faucet. Will this interfere with the touch feature of the faucet?

Answer:
Hi Jan, Thank you for your question. Here are some Frequently Asked Questions anout Touch2O Technology.
1
How do I turn it off and on?
You may choose to operate the faucet as you would any standard single-handle faucet by moving the handle to the on and off positions. You may also tap it on and off with a deliberate touch, like that of playing the piano.
2
How do I control water flow?
You control water flow manually with the handle, just as you would operate any standard faucet. When operating the faucet in “Touch” mode, the water flow setting remains the same as the previous use.
3
How do I control water temperature?
You control the water temperature manually with the handle, just as you would any standard faucet. When operating the faucet in “Touch” mode, the water temperature setting remains the same as the previous use.
4
Are there any safety features?
Touch2O® Technology incorporates an automatic water flow shut-off after four minutes if the water is left running with no activity.
5
Do I need an electrician? What about a plumber?
No. The installation process is just like installing a regular pull-down faucet with an addition of one more component and a few easy-to-connect wires. Because the faucet works on batteries, there is no need to hire an electrician to assist with the installation. Even the batteries are included. With DIAMOND™ Seal Technology, the integrated supply lines mean everything is included in the box.
6
What’s the difference between Touch2O® and Touch2O.xt™ Technology?
You know that static discharge you experience in the winter after walking on carpet and then touching a metal object? That is the result of a characteristic for storing energy in the human body called “capacitance.” Touch2O® Technology uses capacitance sensors to detect human touch and turn the faucet on and off. But don’t worry, it won’t give you a static poke!

If you have additional questions please contact our toll free Helpline at 1-800-345-3358 for further assistance.

Please note that the answer to question 6 doesn't match the question (presumably a copy/paste error).

From what I understand, the difference between Touch2O and Touch2O.xt is that the latter *additionally* offers touch-*less* operation through a proximity sensor (wave your hands underneath the spout to activate).
