I have been reading the questions & answers about this. I have the unit in my hand (will be installed next week). There is a seam about half inch up the base but this unit will not come apart. I don't want to use a wrench, how does it come apart? Thanks, Chuck NJ

Answer:
Thank you for your question. When refilling Delta Faucet model # RP47280, the top should pull off to be filled from the top. It may come apart easier once it is installed. If it does not come apart, please contact our Home Owner/Warranty line at 800-345-3358.

It doesn't pump soap

Customer avatar

I just purchased this soap dispenser, and following the installation instructions and for some reason the pump does not retract to pump out soap. I have to pull the head of the dispenser to try to pump soap out. And, a very small drop of soap comes out. Is this how it's supposed to work? If that's the case I am 100% disappointed in this product. Please advise.

Answer:
Thank you for your question. Remove the bottle (1). Separate head (2) from body assembly (3). Make sure gasket (4) is properly seated in the base of the body assembly. Insert body assembly through selected hole in sink. Secure body assembly to sink with nut and gasket (5). From under the sink screw the bottle (1) onto the body assembly shank, then attach head assembly. Note: To fill, lift the head and pump assembly out of the bottle and pour not more than 8 oz. into bottle. DO NOT remove the bottle each time as this weakens the neck. Use a funnel to help prevent spills. Pull pump and head assembly out occasionally to soak and pump warm water through pump to remove soap build-up. Note: Initially it may take up to 12 pumps to bring soap to the pump tip.

Ok, you have no technical documents available, no illustrations with the previous questions, very poor instructions in the previous answers,if we didn't install the unit, which I didn't.
I tried the quarter turn, nothing, I tried removing the pump top, only to find a minuscule little orifice. ( if that is the hole to refill, I am returning this product). Long story short, for someone who has not seen any technical instructions, did not install the product. Just exactly how does a person refill this? Remember you handle this every day, I don't, so please utilize layman's terms

Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # RP47280AR does fill from the top. Almost the whole soap dispenser comes off the top to fill the bottle. There is a seam at the bottom so you can see where the dispenser is split.

I have had this dispenser for three years and have recently experienced difficulties getting it to dispense soap. I have soaked it in water to dissolve any built up soap but find that it still doesn't work. Are replacement parts available for this or do I need to purchase a whole new unit.
Thank you.

The pump top has stopped being locked in. As a result, it seems that now that I tried to lock it in, it's leaking the soap all over the place.

How do I take this apart to try and clean it and put it back together.

I too do NOT have any instructions. Is there a PDF file available I can download?

Looks like the tube is broken inside the pumper.

Will probably have to buy a new dispenser and it won't be a Delta. Nothing but issues with this one.

Still do not understand how to refill RP47280 from the top.

The only way I see to take the entire dispenser out from the top, as you suggest, is to unscrew it and by doing that the bottle that is under the deck will fall. What part on the top unscrews and what part on the top stays in place in order to keep the bottle underneath in place?

Answer:
We do apologize that you are having trouble with this. The bottle is screwed onto the shank and the top of the soap dispenser is screwed onto the the other end. It should not fall if the two are taken apart. If you turn the soap dispenser about a quarter turn and then lift it off, you should be able to fill the bottle down through the shank.

How do you pull the pump out of to refill dispenser RP47280?

In my previous question I asked how to refill dispenser RP47280 and the answer I received was to pull the pump out. To pull the pump out I unscrew the very top knob on the dispenser and then what? How do I pull out the pump?
