My previous cartridge seemed to have a lower water flow (which I prefer). Once I replaced the cartridge, the water flow is quite strong (and my hot water runs out quickly). Is there a way to adjust any part of the cartridge to make it "lower flow"?

Our shower faucet has been dripping the past few months. Finally got around to fixing it. Was told that the cartridge assembly needed to be replaced. Did that today, and followed all instructions, including an online video demonstration. All went smoothly, but after turing the water back on the shower head is still dripping a leak.

Answer:
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet models RP46704 and RP19804 are both for the 1400 series. However they are for different valves. The RP46704 is used when you have a multi-choice valve, model R10000, in your wall. The RP19804 is used for a pre-multi-choice valve. If your valve was manufactured before 2006, then use the RP19804.

Answer:
If you look at the enlarged picture of each cartridge, you will notice the RP46074 has longer insert tubes (about 1/4 ") that fit into the brass valve body. The RP19804, with shorter inserts, barely reach and seat into the hot and cold valve body ports. Therefore, the valve is going to constantly leak.

Thank you for your question. It may be that you handle had mineral or hard water deposits on it. To remove these, soak the handle with a towel wrapped in a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and cold water overnight.

Replaced cartridge to fix a leaky shower. Stopped leak but now pipes rattling/banging when turning towards hot (usually start about the interphase between cold and hot). Is this an issue with the cartridge or the pressure in the pipes?

Answer:
Thank you for your question. It is possible that when you replaced Delta Faucet model # RP19804 with a new cartridge, some debris may have gotten in the lines. This could cause the rattiling. We recommend taking out the cartridge after making sure the water is off and then closing the shower door or shower curtain and turning the water back on for 1-2 minutes. This should flush any debris out of your lines. If this is not successful, please contact our Home Owner/Warranty line at 800-345-3358.
