Will a T17478 replace my 1500?

I've already purchased the T17478 unit. But it doesn't seem to fit. The screw holes are at 1 and 7. Do I need to order additional parts or are these incompatable?

Hi Jim,

Thank you for your question. With the screw holes at 1 and 7, you should be able to use the T17478, but will need the RP32104 cartridge rather than the one that comes with the kit.

Conversion from 1400 to 1700

Hello,

I have an older 1400 series with holes at the 1 and 7 o'clock positions. Three questions:

1. I would like to upgrade the bathtub. Is there a conversion from the 1400 series to 1700 and does Delta sell a complete set to include new cartridge/conversion, handles, trim, shower head and faucet? I do not want to change the valve body rough in.

2. I just purchased a Delta B114900-SS based on advice of the salesman. It includes cartridge RP70538. Can I convert the existing valve body to accept this cartridge?

3. If the answer to #2 is "no", is there a delta kit similar to the B114900-SS that utilizes a 1700 series cartridge? If so, would I simply buy the conversion kit separately?

Answer:
Hi Steve,

Thank you for your question. Units manufactured after October of 2006 will have a universal MultiChoice valve, which can accept any of our 14, 17, or 17T trim kits. However, if the unit was made prior to this date, only 14 series trim kits will work with the existing valve. You will also need to reuse the existing cartridge, or buy the RP19804.

The B114900-SS will only work with the rough-in valve that is included in the box.

Thanks,
Jon

1500 Series Monitor Faucet

Hello,

I have a 1500 Series Monitor Faucet in my bathtub, the faucet has the black plastic temperature adjustment dial/lever with plastic button on the end that shows the red and blue arrows for hot and cold. The Faucet has the screws in the Eustachian plate at about 2 o'clock and 8 o'clock (diagonal).

My bathtub spout as a pull down type piece that when pulled, diverts the water to the shower head #Is that what you call a "push button"?). 2 Questions:

1. Can I use the RP32104 kit to replace the cartridge, orings, springs, etc.
2. Can I use the RP29405, 1500 to 1700 conversion kit?

Thank you.

Answer:
Hi Craig,

Thank you for your questions! A push-button diverter would be located directly below the handle and you would press it in to divert water to the shower head. You have a pull-down diverter tub spout.

The RP32104 is the correct replacement part for the cartridge, seats, springs, and quad seals. However, you can use the RP29405 conversion kit if you are looking to replace the finished trim parts as will. This kit will include the RP32104.

Thanks,
Jon

I have 1997 1500 series Brass (See Photo) with Push Button Diverter and temp control. Want to convert to Oil Rubbed Bronze or Venetian Bronze. Can't seem to find a reno kit with Push Button diverter and temp control. I could try to paint my Escutcheon but not sure it will work with the newer trim parts. Is there a way I can bypass the diverter (take it off) and go with the more traditional tub spout with pull up diverter? Appreciate your feedback on best options available. Vr

Hi Don,

Thank you for your question! The diverter can be capped using the RP2865 plug. The RP32104 cartridge will then allow you to use any current T17 (not T17T) series trim kit!

We have recently purchased a vacation home and in process of remodeling. The two bathrooms have gold fixtures and we would like to replace with satin nickel finish. Need assistance in identifying the correct conversion kit for each. I have attached several pictures to assist with identifying the correct replacement. Pardon the condition, we took these upon purchase and they need a good cleaning. Please advise and thank you for your help.

Answer:
Hi Jack, Thank you for your question. The pictured tub/shower faucet is a 1300/1400 series faucet. You can use our current T13/T14 series trims with your existing rough in valve. The new trims will ship with a new cartridge that will not fit the existing rough. You will have to continue to use the existing cartridge or replace it with a new RP19804.
The roman tub faucet is a Victorian collection model 2755. You can use any of the current roman tub trims with your existing rough in valve.
Thanks,
Dave

Replace cartridge

I have a 1500 series shower and I need to replace the cartridge as it is leaking. I found the original manual (miraculously) and the part number for the cartridge is RP16207, which I can't find on the website. I see from other questions here that RP 32104 is referenced for the same model. Can I order that cartridge to use in lieu of the 16207?

Thank you.

Delta Monitor shower faucet

hello,
We have an older model Delta Monitor shower faucet that has been leaking (see attached picture... I don't know the exact model number), and which we would like to upgrade to a newer model such as Model # T17230. Is this possible, and if yes what replacement parts would I need to order?
Thanks!

Answer:
Hi Curts, Thank you for your question. Pictured parts are from a 1500 series faucet. If the screw holes on your round escutcheon plate are at 1 and 7 o-clock you can upgrade to the T17230. You will also need to order a RP32104 cartridge and RP22734 bonnet nut to complete the renovation. If the screw holes are at 5 and 7 o-clock, the entire faucet including the rough in valve would have to be changed.
Thanks,
Dave

Answer:
Hi Determined, Thank you for your question. The pictured faucet is a 1500 series faucet. To remove the cartridge you will need to unscrew the brass bonnet nut. If mineral build up is making removing the nut difficult we recommend soaking a towel in a 50/50 solution and wrapping the towel around the nut to help break up the mineral build up. Allow to soak overnight if possible.
Not all 1500 series faucets can use the conversion kit. If the screw holes on your existing round escutcheon plate are diagonally across from one another at 1 and 7 o-clock the faucet trim can be switched out using the existing rough in valve body.
To upgrade the faucet and change to a different finish you will need to order the Monitor 17 series trim of your choice, a RP32104 cartridge, and a RP22734 bonnet nut.
If the screw holes on your current faucet are at 5 and 7 o-clock and in a horizontal line you will have to replace the entire faucet including the rough in valve.
Thanks,
Dave

Answer:
Hi Martyb, Thank you for your question. You can order any of our current Monitor 17 series trims to update your polished brass 1700 series faucet. Our (SS) brilliance stainless finish is comparable to other brands brushed nickel finishes. The new trims will fit your existing rough in valve, but the cartridge that ships with the trim will not. You will have to continue to use your existing cartridge or order a new RP32104.
Thanks,
Dave
