Answer:
Hi Bonnie, Thank you for your question. The RP1050 bonnet nut unscrews counter-clockwise. Use a strap wrench or a rubber jar lid opener to get a better grip on the nut. Often hard water/ mineral build up will make the bonnet nut hard to remove. We recommend soaking a towel in a 50/50 mixture of vinegar and water and wrapping the towel around the bonnet nut. This will help break up the mineral deposits making it easier to remove the nut.
Thanks,
Dave

Answer:
Hi James,

I am sorry to hear about the trouble that you are having with your faucet and I would be happy to help.

We do not recommend using a standard wrench on this cap due to potential for damage. I would recommending using a strap wrench as it applies even pressure all the way around the cap and will not damage the finish. A strap wrench can be purchased at your local home center or hardware store.

Answer:
I found the plastic adjustment ring as a replacement part at my local hardware store. It's replacement seems to have fixed the leaking faucet.

Answer:
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # RP1050 does not include the adjusting ring. If you need a cap with an adjusting ring, then we recommend purchasing RP50 from your local wholesaler or retailer.

Answer:
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet part # RP1050 is a replacement for Delta Faucet part # RP50. However, if you have a faucet that still needs the adjusting ring, then you will still need to order Delta Faucet model # RP50.

I'm having trouble getting the nut off. I have hard water and there is calcium buildup on the threads, etc. I can't get it off with channel lock pliers or with a monkey wrench. These faucets came with my house I bought last November.

Thanks,
Mark

Thank you for your question. To remove the bonnet nut, we recommend placing a cloth over the nut (to protect the finish) coupled with an adjustable wrench.

Answer:
My new house has all these faucets and if you measure them, it uses a 34mm nut socket. You can get them at an automotive store like Canadian tire($20). Works great without marring the surface like channel lock pliers(which I did the first time around).

Everything in the detail diagram looks the same. The faucets I'm working on are about 25 yrs old and the exterior shape of the faucet is a more square look but insides look the same.
