O-Rings

Can replacing the O-rings on an RP19804 fix my leaking shower head issue? When I push in on the shower handle the dripping stops, when I ease up on the handle the dripping starts.

Answer:
Hi Donny, Thank you for your question. If you do not want to replace the entire cartridge you will want to replace the RP4993 seats and springs on the inside of the cartridge. The o-rings on the legs of the cartridge are avaialble to order as RP14414.
Thanks,
Dave

Answer:
Hi Terry, Thank you for your question. The R10000 rough would not be compatible with the older 1300/1400 cartridge the RP19804. The rough is compatible with the current 13/14 series cartridge the RP46074, the 17 series RP46463, and the 17T thermostatic cartridge RP47201.

Dave

Hi Larry,Thank you for your question. Pictured is a 1600 series faucet. The cartridge is a RP1991 and the seats and springs are RP4993. The rectangular escutcheon is no longer available. The RP6083 is the round escutcheon that will work on this model.

Shorter version available?

I am not sure which shower model I have because it's design is similar to so many of your units.

I brought my cartridge to Home Depot and the RP19804 looked like a match in the packaging, however now when I compare them side-by-side it's a millimeter too long.

What assembly is the next size down, but similar in all other ways?

Answer:
Hi Jeremy, Thank you for your question. The RP19804 is the shorter version of the cartridge the legs of the newer RP46074 are longer. If the top of your existing cartridge is white or an off white then the RP19804 should be correct. There have been 4 slightly different versions of the RP19804 but they are interchangeable.

Dave

IS THERE A DELTA O-RING KIT FOR THIS CARTRIDGE

Customer avatar

When I service this type of cartridge I usually replace the cups and springs, which I know Delta manufactures, and I only use Delta OEM parts. Is there an o-ring kit part number also? or are there part numbers for the individual body and inlet o-rings?

Answer:
Hi Ed, Thank you for your question. We do not offer a repair kit for the RP19804. The RP4993 seats and springs, and the RP14414 o-rings that fit around the legs of the cartridge can be ordered as separate items.

Dave

Can I change from a Monitor 1300/1400 to a Multichoice 13/14?

Newbie Needs Help
Central Valley CA
My shower has an old Monitor 1300/1400 which uses the dual temperature - rate control handle (two handle levers). If I buy a new shower kit that uses the Multichoice 13/14 RP46074 cartridge, will I be able to just plug the new cartridge in place of the RP19804 and put on the trim, or will any changes need to be made to the cartridge housing or rough in that is already in the wall?

Answer:
Hi Newbie Needs Help, Thank you for your question. Based on your description on having a handle with separate temperature and volume control you have a 1700 series faucet. The 1300/1400 series faucets offered single handle control over temperature only.
The RP46074 cartridge used in the 13/14 series will not fit a 1700 series rough in valve. You can use a new 17 series Monitor trim with your existing rough to update your faucet.
Thanks,
Dave

Basic question: how to tell if a product is 1300/1400 series?

Does 1300 series mean T13xxx-xx model numbers. And 1400 series means any model number like 14xxx-xx?

For example, do T14461-SS and T14459-SS both belongs to 1400 series and can work with this RP19804 cartridge?

Answer:
Hi Ryan, Thank you for your question. The 1300/1400 series faucets were single handle pressure balanced tub/shower faucets sold prior to February 2006. The handle controls temperature only and turns counter-clockwise to turn on and clockwise to turn off. These faucets use our RP19804 cartridges. The model numbers would start with 13 or 14 and would be a complete faucet. The new single handle pressure balanced faucets that use our R10000 multichoice universal rough in produced after February 2006 are our 13/14 series. The trim is sold separately from the rough and models of the trim will start with T13 or T14.
These trims ship with our RP46074 cartridge. The T14461-SS and T14459-SS trims will both work on your older 1300/1400 series rough. However the new cartridge that ships with the trim will not fit your existing rough. You will have to continue to use your existing cartridge or order a new RP19804. One identifying feature between the 2 series is the top of the cartridge. The top of the RP19804 cartridge used in the 1300/1400 series will be white, the top of the RP46074 cartridge used in the 13/14 series will be gray.
Thanks,
Dave
