Need switch for wand assembly

Customer avatar

I had a tiny plastic part in the wand assembly break from normal use. Is there a way to buy that part or a switch repair kit? Otherwise, it's over a 100 dollars to fix a tiny plastic part.

Answer:
Hi DC Customer, Thank you for your question. Unfortunately there are not any repair parts available for the RP44652SS wand assembly. If part of the wand is broken the entire unit will have to be replaced.
Thanks,
Dave

Model# 468-SD-DST. Need to remove screen for a placement of an adapter to allow for a portable dishwasher hook up. Local plumbing store stated I needed a "key" to be able to remove it.

Answer:
Thank you for your question. We do not recommend that portable dishwashers be hooked up to any of the Delta Faucet pull out or pull down faucets. The faucets are equipped to handle the pressure of a portable dishwasher.

We just bought Model 468-SD-DST, how to you remove aerator to clean it?

We have hard water, and no softening system, so I clean aerators monthly. How do you remove this aerator without damaging the faucet? Please send answer to my email. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Nina

Answer:
Smiley is correct. My water comes from a well. Small particles make their way through the pipes and clog my faucets. I asked the same question and received the same lame answer from Delta to soak the wand in a solution of vinegar and water. It did not work. I do not have the same problem with my bathroom faucets and shower heads as they can be cleaned. Of course they are not DELTA products nor will my next kitchen faucet be a Delta. I do not think a replacement wand is worth in excess of $131.00. I will opt to purchase a new non Delta faucet that can be cleaned.

Answer:
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # 468-SD-DST does not have an aerator that can be removed. However, you can clean the whole showerwand by soaking it overnight in a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and cold water. This will loosen and remove any hard water build-up in the wand.

Answer:
I wouldn't count on the answer supplied by Delta. I've tried the vinegar treatment and it didn't work (other than cleaning the outside of the faucet.) And, as Delta said, the aerator is NOT replaceable (which I find pretty crazy since that is the most likely part to NEED replaced?) This was verified by my local plumbing supply house. So, replacing the wand is the only alternative, at the cost of around $131! I said it was crazy!
No more Deltas for me.
