There is a big differential of temps when turning the temp handle left to right...hot to cold...it will not maintain the proper temp ...it either way to hot or way too cold...

thanks Kenny

Answer:
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # RP47201 should pull out after the bonnet is removed. It is possible that it is stuck in the valve due to mineral deposits. We recommeend using a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water to dissolve the mineral deposits.

Answer:
I've had the clogging problem too. I've found that if you soak the cartridge in decalcifier (like CLR) for half an hour or so, it clears it up and restores the water flow.

Just make sure you get the decalcifier down inside the cartridge, and ensure that the cartridge is in the "on" position (like it would be if it were installed and you had the water running).

Good luck!

Replacement instructions

I have just received my replacement cartridge assembly for RT47201 (D-Thermostatic Catridge Assembly) - and I would like to know if there are any how-to instructions available. I plan to replace the entire unit.

Answer:
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # RP47201 can be installed by turning off the water, taking off the handles and the bonnet nut, and then pulling out the old cartridge and installing the new one. Then just put everything back the way it came out. Included are the general instructions for the 17T series. On page 15 is where the thermostatic cartridge gets installed.

Answer:
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # RP47201 does not break down into different parts that can be purchased separately. If the o-rings need to be replaced, then the whole cartridge will need to be replaced.
