Hello, I have question about delta tub faucets

We here at the hotel have delta 600 series tub faucets I believe installed around 1990. They have a acrylic crystal ball. If i want to the change from acrylic handle to a single metal lever handle(RP2393), Would I be able to use the RP70 Ball for the metal lever RP2393 ? The RP70 ball fits in the metal lever. The original ball that is in the acrylic crystal handle has a different type of ball. Can I try using the RP70 ball with the Single Metal lever RP2393 in my current faucet? The conversion ball is very expensive to put in 70 rooms, so I wanted to see if there was a way around this by using RP70 ball.

Answer:
Hi David, Thank you for your question. You cannot transition from the acrylic knob handle to the lever handle on a 600 series faucet by using the RP70 ball assembly. The RP20111 conversion ball would have to be used.
Thanks,
Dave

I have a Saxony Single Handle Pull-out Kitchen Faucet w/soap dispenser Model 473-RBSD.

The handle comes completely off from the ball assembly, was it made that way or is it broken. The faucet also leaks water onto the counter top and drips quite a bit. I read another users answer concerning the leaking and drips, but I want to know if the handle should come completely off the faucet??

Answer:
Hi Connie, Thank you for your question. The handle on the 473-RBSD is held on by a set screw that should meet the flat portion on the stem of the ball ssembly. When installed correctly the handle should not be coming off. Replacing the RP4993 seats and springs and the RP32520 o-rings on your faucet should help stop the leaks on your faucet. Here is a link to the parts diagram for your model to help with the repair.

I notice that my original RP70 ball has 4 round holes but the "#70 style" ball at the hardware store has only 3.

The 4th hole in the RP70 doesn't seem to line up with anything in the faucet. Any problem with the hardware store ball - besides not being genuine Delta?

Hi Cliffn,

Thank you for your question. We cannot recommend using any other parts in our faucets beside genuine Delta Faucet parts. It does void the warranty if you use other manufacture's parts.

Thanks.

Answer:
Hi Don, Thank you for your question. You should not have to replace the ball assembly, only make sure that it is clean and free from debris. The parts you will want to replace are the RP61 cam assermbly to stop the leak under the handle and the RP4993 seats and springs to stop the dripping.

Dave

Is the PR70 Ball Assembly an acceptable replacement for the RP12301 Vacuum Breaker Ball Assembly on a pull out faucet?

Customer avatar

Our Delta 476 Waterfall Single Handle Kitchen Pull Out Faucet is suddenly leaking badly from under the lever. Upon investigating it appears water is coming out the small holes on either side of the ball assembly stem. I am not able to locate the exact ball assembly locally. Will the PR70 Ball assembly function as an acceptable replacement part to the RP12301 Vacuum Breaker Ball Assembly?

Answer:
Hi E1012, Thank you for your question. The RP70 ball assembly and RP4993 seats and springs should work in an older 600 series lever handle tub/shower faucet. If the faucet has the acrylic knob handle you will want to use the RP212 ball assembly instead of the RP70.
Thanks,
Dave

I watched the video, and it seems the handle should come right off, but it does not. Is there some other step I need to take?

I solved the problem. The handle came off with a bit more effort. It was stuck due to mineral deposits. The faucet has now been repaired and stopped dripping.

Answer:
Hi Bob,

Thank you for your question. It is possilbe that you have mineral deposits built up underneath your faucet handle. We recommend soaking a towel in a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and cold water. Then wrap the towel around the handle and soak overnight to allow the mixture to loosen the deposits. You should be able to lift the handle off after removing the set screw.

Thanks.
