Can the 144910 be installed on an iron pipe?
I read in a review on the Lowe's website that the 144910 cannot be installed on anything but a copper pipe even though the installation pdf shows installation on iron, copper, or plastic pipes. Can this unit be installed on iron or plastic pipes too?
I can attest that although the instructions make no mention of it, and customer service will tell you not to, this can be installed on an iron pipe. The plastic adaptor for using with copper pipe is removable with some effort and care, as my picture shows.

booklet instructions say for thin wall installation "See instruction on the bag...". My bag has no instructions. What are the instructions?
Thank you for your inquiry! The thin wall kit is meant for a specific builder/plumber scenario. A thin wall installation mainly means that the installer cannot attach the valve to a board inside the wall. So they would use the plasterguard and escutcheon to sandwich the shower wall, helping the shower valve hold in place. Otherwise the wall should always be flush with the front of the plasterguard.

Can I add a hand held shower to this model?
Thank you for your question, Ray. You can add a hand shower using a 3-Setting Diverter.
You can use a wall mounted diverter such as the R11000 valve and a T118_ trim kit, or a shower arm diverter such as the U4920-PK.

Another faucet that fits this valve?
We have this tub and shower set in our bathroom now in Stainless Steel. I'd like to switch to a brushed nickel fixture but don't want to replace the valve. What are my options for brushed nickel fixtures that use this valve?
Thank you for your question. This unit comes with a MultiChoice valve body, which will allow you to install any trim kit that we currently make. Older units (pre-2006) will allow you to use any 13/14 series trim using the existing cartridge.

Q1.Adjustable volume? Q2. How do you operate faucet?
I was told this faucet you can just pull handle towards you to increase volume of water. Is this correct?
I was wondering if you could leave handle positioned in the warm setting and just push handle in to turn it off not needing to rotate handle left or right? OR do you need to physically turn handle all the way to cold side as well?
Thank you for your questions! The handle operates by rotating counter-clockwise. From the off position at 3 o'clock, the water will start cold and get hotter as you turn the handle. The handle cannot be push in or out to adjust the flow. Our 14 series units do not have a volume control.

What options are there to connect the tub spout to my existing 1/2 threaded iron pipe?
The tub and shower kit I purchased (144910) has the slip-on style connection for the tub spout. Is there a way to connect it to my existing 1/2 threaded iron pipe? Or another spout with a similar finish that I can purchase that would be able to connect to the iron pipe?
Thank you for your question. The tub spout can only be installed on a smooth 1/2" copper pipe. Below are some alternative tub spouts that will fit onto a 1/2" threaded pipe (extending 5/8" - 1 5/8" from the finished wall).

I bought a new Delta 144910 tub and shower valve. Can I use PVC plastic pipe for the water supply lines?
Thanks for your question!
You can use PVC pipe for the hot and cold ports on the rough in valve but you will need to use 1/2" IPS adapters to use the PVC. You can also use PVC from the top port to plumb the shower head, again using the appropriate adapters. However, you must use 1/2" copper or iron pipe when plumbing from the bottom port to the tub spout.
I hope this helps!
