Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works wonderfully My son installed this in a new shower that he had built and it works beautifully. I am very happy with it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not as good as the Delta it replaced I tried to have the Delta tub and Shower unit that was installed about 9 years ago fixed. I called and had parts sent. The certified plumber that was fixing it said he could not use the parts.. some were wrong and part of the unit he could not get apart with out breaking. Since we were with out a shower (only one in the house) I went to Menards to find a replacement Delta unit for him to install. ( I am sure I could have called the company again and get the whole unit but did not have the time to wait 2 weeks for delivery) The plumber installed the new unit and it works just fine. The handle seems like it will not last over time. It is very sensitive to hot and cold with very little movement. I wish I had my old unit back.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not bad, not great, but not bad. The finish is definitely only surface deep, be very careful with tools when tightening as you can easily mar the finish. The restricter that comes in the shower head, really restricts the flow. I took out the screen, then drilled a hole in the plastic insert 3/16 wide. That was a bit too much so I put the screen back in and that made the shower flow strong but not too much. But out of the box, too weak a flow.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Delta faucets Very easy to repair or replace. Removed tub/shower cultured marble end. Replaced 1972 shower faucet with Delta Monitor. Replaced galvanized pipe. Reinstalled cultured marble end.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well built Purchased roughly a month ago and installed it within a few days. The temperature control to protect against burning hot water is a great design feature, especially with young children. And the new valve design makes it interchangeable to change the look with out having to redo plumbing.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Look.......careful with install! The shower head and controls look very classy and helped to complete a shower remodel, but be careful when installing. The bracket used to hold the wall cover in place for the shower control is made of weak metal material and should be removed if you plan to sweat copper pipes to the casing. One of the connection points nearly broke off as a result of the heat and I have been unable to find a replacement part.

How do i increase water temperature or mixture? Basically my hot water is not as hot as i would like it.

Asked by: Buster
Hi, Buster! Thank you for your question. There is a rotational limit stop on the valve cartridge assembly that can be adjusted to get hotter water. Here is a link to a how-to video on how to adjust the rotational limit stop: https://www.deltafaucet.com/video-gallery/video-page-1?videoId=n2_uZ7wgV1I Best Regards, Rosanna

What types of cleaners can you use on the oil rubbed bronze faucets?

I just had new Delta Porter 14494-OB sink faucests plus tub and shower faucets installed in my bathroom and need to know what cleaner can be used to clean them, but still get my sinks and tub clean as well? Tonita Miller North Carolina
Asked by: Delta Porter Bath Faucets
Hello Tonita, Thank you for your question! Here are our cleaning and care instructions: Always blot dry any water from the faucet surface. Allowing water to evaporate on the surface can lead to build up of mineral deposits. Cleaning with a damp non-abrasive sponge and buffing it dry with a clean soft cloth should help keep your product looking beautiful. To remove water spots, use warm water and a soft, damp cloth. Hard water stains may be removed using a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water. Make certain that you rinse the surface thoroughly with water afterward. If additional cleaning is required, all of our finishes may be cleaned with the following household cleaners: Formula 409® Antibacterial All Purpose Cleaner, Fantastik® All Purpose Cleaner, or Windex® Original Glass Cleaner, when used according to the manufacturers' instructions for use. Avoid using the following which can damage your finish: Avoid industrial cleaners and abrasive cleaners, such as those used for toilet bowls, green Scotch-Brite heavy duty scrub sponges, Scrubbing Bubbles Bathroom Cleaner and Lysol Basin Tub, Soft Scrub, and Tile Cleaner. Avoid products that state on the label that they remove tarnish and rust and those containing hydrofluoric, hydrochloric and/or phosphoric acids and caustic agents. Avoid harsh abrasives or polishes. Avoid bleach-based cleaners. Best regards, Tanya

Is there a longer trim sleeve available?

I need a longer trim sleeve for this install. Ours does not go all the way to the wall.
Asked by: sabryna
Hi sabryna, Thank you for your question. We recommend that the back of the valve be 2 3/4" from the finished wall for the included 2 1/6" sleeve. If the valve is further forward, a longer sleeve may be needed. Unfortunately, we do not have a longer sleeve in the Oil Rubbed Bronze finish. However, we do have a longer sleeve in the lighter Venetian Bronze, part number RP39407RB (3") and RP22735RB (3 1/2"). https://www.deltafaucet.com/parts-product-detail?modelNumber=RP39407RB https://www.deltafaucet.com/parts-product-detail?modelNumber=RP22735RB Best regards, Jon

Gap between spout and tile.

I installed the monitor 14 series tub spout in brushed nickel and there is a 5/16" gap between the spout and the tile. Is there a plate that can be installed to cover this gap?
Asked by: Sidc2000
Hi Sidc2000, I'm sorry for any inconvenience. Please make sure that the threaded pipe for the tub spout extends 3 7/8 – 4” from the finished wall. Unfortunately, we do not have a plate to cover the gap. Best regards, Jon

can i use 1/2" cpvc pipe for the tub spout provided I use a brass male screw on fitting on the end for the spout to screw onto

Asked by: Mark
Thank you for your question, Mark. The the entire tub spout drop must be 1/2" copper or iron pipe and extend 8-18" from the valve. Other piping will have a different internal diameter. Anything outside of these specifications can create back pressure, resulting in water being forced up to the shower head when using the tub spout. Best regards, Jon

Can I use any Delta Trim kit with this valve?

My contractor installed this valve, however I would like a different delta trim kit. Is the valve included in this a universal valve for delta?
Asked by: Amanda
Hello Amanda, Thank you for your question. The 144984-BN-A has the R10000-UNBX Universal valve. That valve can be used with any current Multi-Choice T13, T14, T17 and T17T trim. Best regards, Brandis

I am remodeling my restroom and need to know if my new faucet (144984-BN)will fit onto my old ( Monitor 1400)?

The drywall I removed was 3/8 in. and replacing that with a shower wall and the depth of that is 3/8 as well. The only thing I see stopping me from using the old valve is the sleeve. The old sleeve is nearly an inch longer than the new one.
Asked by: Jeffrey Emberton
Hello Jeffrey Emberton, Thank you for question. The 144984-BN tub/shower trim will fit the old 1400 valve. You will need to use your existing RP19804 valve cartridge and not the multi choice valve cartridge as it will not work for your valve. The trim sleeve included with the 144984 is 21/16". We do offer a 3" trim sleeve RP39407 and a 3 1/2" trim sleeve part number RP22735. Best regards, Brandis
