Rated 4 out of 5 by from Replace RP46463 (grey cap) Cartridge with RB32104 (white cap) for Carlisle 17Series Shower Head but change the cap on RP32104 to Grey Cap I recently remodeled my shower stall and purchased the Carlisle In2ition Hand Held Shower Head (17293-I) to realize that the Cartridge was defective in the process of installing the faucet. Failing to find the correct Cartridge RP46463 (grey cap), i replaced it with RP32104 (white cap) but switched the cap to grey instead of white. Note that the Adapter Assembly R46073 for RP46463 should be used on RP32104 Cartridge, it works, no more leaking. It's a great shower head, the throw of water is just enough and doesn't splash all over. The temperature control is a great feature to maintain constant temperatre desired. Would recommend but need to ensure all parts work before installing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Have now had for 2 years My old valves were obsolete, and leaking, so I needed to replace them with a cartridge-based system. I chose this one, from a lot of choices out there, mainly because you could affect temperature without affecting flow, and I don't really fancy very hot water. The feature works, but it is not really high precision, which I guess should be expected. Meaning, really although it has a slide dial, there are really only 3 settings, hot, cold, and in-between. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but something else would probably be unrealistic. There are a lot of fancy features on this, but honestly, how often do you use fancy features, like having water come out of the removable head and the fixed head at the same time. It is neat, but I haven't used it in two years since trying it out right after installation. The main thing you want, it seems to me, is a reliable valve that can be replaced, if needed, with a cartridge, that is under warranty for life. I heard that Delta is the best valve, which is why I chose it. No problems at all in two bathrooms where I installed this, but that is exactly what you would expect. These should be with the house for the rest of its life, and for that reason, the money spent on this is probably worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Expensive but AWESOME Shower Head My wife and I updated a bath tub / shower and put in a walk in shower. We used the onyx shower pan and wall system, and updated our full flow cold to hot faucet. We bought the Carlisle shower head just on the looks and features. After installing it and trying it, we are very pleased with the flow and different features, like being able to turn on the hand shower or the shower head or together. I really like the temperature control without changing the flow and the safety of not being scalded when the toilet or sink is used while you're taking a shower. Two thumbs up, this product from Delta Faucet is a high quality, ingeniously designed Faucet and the lifetime guarantee gave me confidence along with the company reputation.

WHy would Water be just dripping from shower head with turned on fully?

Shower head was functioning fine until recently. Turned water off to house temporaily and now since turning water back on the shower will not come on fully. It just comes on as if it was stopped up. Can you point me in the direction of how to trouble shoot it?
Asked by: twag59
Hi Twag59, Thank you for your question. It sounds like some debris may have gotten into the lines when the water was shut off and turned back on. We recommend that you remove the showerhead and clean the debris screen. Also allow the faucet to run without the showerhead on to flush the line running to the showerhead. Thanks, Dave

Temperature control

Is there a way to adjust the water temperature? I have the temperature control knob moved as far as it will go to the hot side, and the water is not very hot.
Asked by: LT
Thanks for contacting Delta Faucet! Please view the following instructions and attached images in order to adjust the rotational limit stop to allow for a hotter temperature: Remove the temperature control knob. Rotate the limit stop towards the "H" for a hotter temperature (every tooth in the disc is approximately a 2 degree F change). Replace the temperature control knob and recheck water temperatures (making sure cold water flows first). Repeat as necessary until you reach desired temperature.

Convert 14 series to 17 series

The contractor installed a 144710 instead of the specified 172939-I On the box for the 144710 it appears to show converting to a two handle, temperature and flow, fixture. Is this possible and what do I need to buy to do that? Thanks
Asked by: DanD
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # 144710 includes the rough-in valve R10000-UNBX. This is our multi-choice valve and can be left in the wall while the outside trim is changed at any time to another 1400 series or upgraded to a 1700 series trim. If you purchase the 172939-I, it will also have the R10000-UNBX included which you will not need. Just follow the instructions after the installation of the valve.

Does this shower/valve work well with on-demand water heater?

We have an on-demand hot water heater and standard shower without temperature control. I usually run full hot until the water runs warm, then move the control to a comfortable temperature.
Asked by: Lynda
Thank you for your question. By "on-demand", do you mean a tank-less water heater? If so, we have heard of instances from consumers of this item that the water temperature from the shower will go from hot/cold when using these types of heaters. Usually when that happens, we recommend turning the water heater DOWN vs. up. Generally, these types of heaters require a certain flow rate going thru them to keep them on. As showerheads now are 1.5 or 2.0 gpm, the hot water flow is only half that, or .75-1.0. So, this may not be enough flow to keep the water heater on. Another recommendation is to obtain a higher flow showerhead.

HHow do I adjust the temperature to a comfortable level.

It is either too hot or too cold.
Asked by: mike
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # 172939-SS-I has a dial on the front of it to adjust the temperature. It is on the very front of the handle. Once you have reached your desired temperature, you can leave that handle in that position and then move the other handle for volume control.
