Replacing old model trim with new trim
I have a very old delta classic garden tub trim set (see pictures). I would like to remove this old trim and replace it with new, modern trim. But I have no access to underneath the tub deck. I can see how to get the handles off easily, but the current spout has no set screw on the outside. There are 4 screws on the underside of the spout (see picture), 2 of which I've removed. But before I go too far, I want to make sure this old spout can be removed from the top, without having access to underneath the tub deck. I assume there might be some sort of release under the underside plate, but I have read one other blog where the person said there was not a way to release the spout even after removing this underside plate. Is the only way to get this spout off by having access to underneath the deck?
Hi Bruce, Thank you for your question. The pictured roman tub spout cannot be removed from above the deck. The spout has a threaded pipe with a nut that tightens the spout to the deck that can only be accessed from underneath. Our current trims will not work with your existing rough in valve, the entire faucet would have to be replaced.

I would like to change the handles on the 2705 garden set, do I have to purchase a whole new faucet or can i purchase just the handles if so what kind
I would like to update my bathtub handles, can this easily be done by switching out my handles only?
Thank you for your question. The handles can be replaced with any H6_ handle set. If you switch to a lever handle, we would also recommend replacing the stems with the RP24096.

I have an old classic roman tub brass trim. I would like to change the trim only to a brushed nickel. Is this possible without having to cut into the wall?
Thank you for your question. If the spout is held on by a set screw on the back, our current trim kits will work with the existing valve. If there is a set screw on the front of the spout, please check to see where the o-ring is located. If the o-ring is on the valve, current trims will work. If it is on the spout, the valve body will first need to be replaced.

Can model # 2705 be replaced with trim #BT2796 ?
Hi JoanneM, Thank you for your question. The model BT2796 will fit the existing rough in valve of your model 2705.
