It looks like the spacing of the handles can be varied. I will be installing a pair of these faucets on a double vanity in my new home.
In case the plumber or builder asks me how far apart I want them: Is there a recommended distance apart?
I installed ours at 8" center to center of the handles. Could have gone closer, could have gone further.

I am wanting to put the stainless finish in a coastal townhome. Will this rust or would another finish be better for the climate?
Thank you for your question. Yes, the Delta Lahara Lavatory 3538-MPU-DST can be installed in any indoor or outdoor setting. Please see the below link for the cleaning care for all our finishes.

does the widespread Lahara come in brushed nickel?
Thank you for your inquiry, Karen! The Delta Lahara Lavatory 3538-SSMPU-DST in the Brilliance Stainless Steel finish would be the closest finish, that this unit comes in, to a Brushed Nickel finish. The Stainless Steel finish is a dull brushed silver finish.

What would be the replacement set screws?
They were never installed and contractor is gone. Easiest if I could just buy a couple set screws to hold on the handles.
Hi Brian, Thank you for your question!
You will need the RP25620 set screw kit for your model 3538-MPU-DST.

Handle leaks on delta faucet Lahara 2. Handle wide spread 3538 mpu-dst. What part do i need to fix leak
Thank you for your question, Cali 01! The model 3538-MPU-DST may need a replacement valve assembly cartridges, part number RP60400, however older versions of the Lahara would have used the RP25513 stem unit assemblies in conjunctions with the RP4993 seats/springs and you will need to check the supply line to be sure it is DST which uses dark gray Pex lines as opposed to copper.
Best regards, Edward

Sahara 3538. The black plastic insert (filter?) in the spout has a crack and water sprays out sideways. Can this be removed and replaced?
Thank you for your question, and I am sorry to hear that your Delta faucet aerator is broken. The aerator is a replaceable part. The part number is RP54977. Here is the link to this part:

"Metal" pop up
I just bought this faucet. My plumber told me before I bought it, "just make sure it has a metal pop-up." Well, yes, there is metal for the part one sees in the sink, but the inside is all plastic. I bought this from a very well known big box store and it came in original Delta packaging. The model numbers matched, however, the inside of the pop-up is all plastic and cheap. My plumber went ahead and installed it, however, I am disappointed in the quality of the pop-up. Please let me know if the inside of the metal pop-up is supposed to be plastic or are different items with the same model numbers being sold at plumber's supply houses, this site, and at big box stores.
Thank you for your question. The drain assembly is metal. The stopper and the ball on the horizontal rode is non-metallic. Non-metallic parts are beneficial because they do not rust or corrode. Please know that all of our products are built to last and come with a Lifetime Limited Warranty. When comparing the same model number, products will be exactly the same regardless of where they are purchased.

Lahara faucet 3538-MPU-DST vs 3538-LF
Can you enlist all differences between the two Lahara 8 inch widespread faucet models? How does one choose between the 2 models?
Hi JT, Thank you for your question. The model 3538-LF and the 3538-MPU-DST will look the same from above the sink. The major difference is in the valves of the faucet itself. The 3538-LF uses the stem unit assembly, seats and springs to control the water flow, while the model 3538-MPU-DST uses our Diamond Seal Technology which uses a diamond coated ceramic cartridge to control the water flow. The water supply connections from the valves to the spout and from the valves to your water stops/shutoffs are also a difference between the 2 models.

3538-MPU or 3538-MPU-DST
How can I tell if my faucet has Diamond Seal Technology?
Thank you for your inquiry, Pupper! The Delta faucet models that contain the letter "DST", like the Lahara 3538-MPU-DST faucet uses our Diamond Seal Technology which uses a diamond coated ceramic cartridge to control the water flow.

Is there a replacement flange for sinks that do not have an overflow drain? This drain assembly simply won't work on sinks with no overflow -- the assembled piece is to long and the holes in the flange would just leak water.
Thank you for your question, dibbits! Although we do no have a separate flange available without overflow holes, below is a link to our complete less-overflow drain assemblies.

Will this faucet work with a vessel sink? If not, what similar design would work with a vessel sink?
Hi Barbara, Thank you for your question. The height to the bottom of the spout on the model 3538-SSMPU-DST is approximately 3-1/2", this is generally not high enough to clear the rim of most vessel sinks. All of our vessel bowl faucets are the single hole installation, single handle style. Another option might be a 2 handle wall mount lav faucet like our model 3592LF-WL.

How is WaterSense accomplished? Is there a flow restrictor that can be removed? The public water supply in my area only provides 30 lbs of pressure so I'm concerned about the flow rate of Delta Lahara 3538-SSMPU-DST being adequate.
Thank you for your question. The Delta 3538-SSMPU-DST faucet has a flow rate of 1.20 gpm @ 60 psi. The unit is WaterSense® Labeled. WaterSense® labeled faucets use at least 20% less water than the industry standard—saving you money without compromising performance. There is not a way to remove this, as it is non-removable. Removing or attempting to remove the flow restrictor may result in voiding any warranty you may have for the faucet.

What is the length of an individual handle?
I am replacing a mini wide set and need to make sure that the handles do not exceed the width of the sink. I need this info before I make the purchase.
Hi Barb, Thank you for your question!
Below is a link to the technical specification for the model 3538-MPU-DST which provides information on the handle.
