When properly installed should the handles pull toward or away from you?
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # 3553LF-SS has handles that turn towards the spout when turning the water on and away from the spout to turn it off.

The holes were made too big in the countertop for the handles. Is there anything we can do?
The faucet fits fine. Thanks
Thank you for your question, and I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing an issue with your Delta faucet. The hole size for each hole should be 1 5/16"~1 1/2" (33~38 mm). Here is a link to the technical specifications for this unit:
Unfortunately, there is not a repair part to fix the hole being larger than the required hole size. I do apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Delta lavatory faucet model number 3553LF-SS, will this faucet work for 3 cm granite
If not can it be retro fitted for 3cm use.
I purchased this product not realizing the specs stated it was ok for up to 29mm (just under 3cm for standard granite thickness). The faucet was installed in a granite vanity and after getting the handles pushed down all the way, it is working fine. I am not sure why Delta states it won't work.

What is the maximum deck thickness for installation?
What is the maximum deck thickness for installation? The spec sheet says 1 1/8" but I saw a post that this had been increased recently to accommodate thicker granite installations?
Hi Frustrated, Thank you for your question. In response to the trend of thicker counter top surfaces all of the recent and new wide spread lavatory faucets have a max deck thickness of 2-1/4". We offer the RP10612 for the models that need additional thickness.

Thank you for your question! Out of the box, this unit works with a maximum deck thickness of 1 1/8". However, the RP10612 extension kit will add an extra inch to the maximum deck thickness.
