Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overpriced but still a decent Sliding Shower Head System Overall a decent, but overpriced Sliding Bar Hand Shower. Pros: -Works well (easy to move Hand Shower Up and Down the Slide - simply press a spring loaded button at the bottom of the Mount for the Hand Held Shower. -Components looks good, however, many of the components are plastic that looks like chrome (unfortunately this appears to be the norm these days for many bathroom, kitchen faucets). - Shower Head has 5 adjustments for the shower. -Fairly easy to mount. I installed this to my shower stall made with engineered quartz I had to separately purchase 4 Toggle Bolts ( i Used 1/8 inch by 2 inch Long Toggle Bolts - this requires a masonry drill bit sized at 3/8 inch). -This fits the bill: To be able to easily adjust a shower head for multiple sized people. Cons: - Very "Plasticky". -Over Priced for what you get; unfortunately I couldn't find anything as good for a cheaper price (MSRP is $192!!!! Purchased at Amazon and saved $100) Despite my gripes about the price, and the use of many plastic parts, i would probably still buy another as long as I could find one for under $100. I have (installed) other Delta Faucets with a lot of plastic parts, and so far they have held up fairly well.

Does the hand shower tilt?

Asked by: maam
Hi Maam, Thank you for your question! The slide mount does allow you to tilt the hand shower. Thanks, Jon

How does the adjustable slide come apart?

My contractor installed the adjustable slide upside down on the bar and I cannot see how to take it apart to turn it over. The hand shower will not fit into the holder the way it is.

There is a cap cover at the top and bottom of the Sliding Bar - remove these covers (cover just snaps into place, therefore all you need to do is pry the cover off with a small screw driver or small pry bar - be careful you don't scratch the surface of the Sliding Bar). Underneath the caps, you will see the screws that are used to hold the bar in place - there should be 2 screws at the top and 2 more at the bottom. Remove the screws and the bar should come right off. NOTE: Your contractor may have used some silicone caulk to "waterproof" the install - this caulk will act like glue that you may need to also remove to "release" the Sliding Bar. Once the Sliding Bar is released, you should be able to easily reverse you Mounting Bracket. Good Luck - this is a fairly easy fix.

What are the specs for mounting screws for this bar?

I am trying to replace an old Alsons contemporary shower bar and hand shower, but don't want to drill more screw holes into the tile wall. Alsons indicates on their specs that the inner screws are spaced 24.3" apart and the outer screws (highest and lowest) are spaced 26.0" apart. Can I use the same screw holes?
Asked by: ellen
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # 51505 has an inner length of 24.5" and an outer length of 26".
