Delta® Decorative Grab/Slide Bars are ADA Compliant. They can be positioned 33 to 36 inches above the finished floor. The bars do not rotate within the fittings and will support up to 500 pounds of force, twice the ADA requirement of 250 pounds of force, when properly installed. A retrievable grab/slide bar wall anchor is also included for ease of removal. Awesome!
We ordered this as a replacement for our master shower, and it's perfect. Love all the options for the massage portions, and regular sprays. The finish is perfect too! It matches our existing fixtures in our bathroom, and love the ease of movement too.

Beautiful!
The combination shower bar and handheld shower head is a dream for my mother. The design is sleek and modern and the shower has a couple of different settings. The bar is helpful in getting in and out of shower but it is also helpful in stabilizing yourself while in the shower. Very impressed with this product. Installation was fairly straight forward as well.

I absolutely love the Delta 51900-SS, it's easy to install aslong as you have the proper tools to install it, this is far the best shower head I have used so far, it has adjustments how you want your water to flow and is easy to use, I love the bar that holds the shower head, it comes in handy for my elderly father in law that lives with us, I do recommend this shower head to anyone

Great feature for those the problem showering
The showerhead came at a great time with just being diagnosed with cancer it moved up and down makes it easy for me to shower. The shower head is awesome it's very chic and in style it GB does very well with my shower I.n my home.

i love my new shower head. i love that i can hold and hit my sore spots on my body with the nice hot water and i love the spray of the water. i love the grab bar to it makes me feel comfort knowing it there if i need to grab something. this is a great setup to have. i love it it was very easy to install took no time at all. i did it myself

Great variety of features
The Delta Faucet 9-Spray ADA-Compliant Slide Bar Hand Held Shower with Hose, is absolutely fantastic. Our shower stall is separate from the tub so having the safety feature of a grab bar installed is genius.I always associated the grab bar as something seniors would use, I was wrong. My husband Installed and it and once we located the studs in the wall to mount the grab bar to, it was a breeze. The stainless steel finish is gorgeous and wipes clean. There are 9 different settings from massage to soft rain or a full stream shower feels so good. I have an 8 yr. old who says she is too old for tub baths. The hand held sprayer attaches to the grab bar and is adjustable, up or down, which makes her feel special~ I think my favorite feature with this unit is that you can clean the spray head just using your finger tip...yes, finger tip. Just touch the holes on the sprayer and you wipe off the film. It's definitely a time saver when cleaning. I love the hose, it's long enough to reach over your head and back for a clean rinse of the soap without twisting and getting in your way! And because it's a Delta, it comes with a limited lifetime warranty - you just don't see many products that offer it anymore. This shower unit is by far the best on the market and I am thrilled I have the opportunity to use it in my home. You won't be disappointed with the quality.

Good, but...
I looked quite a bit before selecting this item. We wanted something that could also function as a grab bar and had the right finish. It is a sturdy, attractive item, but if you are looking for a shower head with some oomph, this isn’t it. We are using it with a rain shower head and wanted something to provide more of a pulsing capability, which this doesn’t offer. There are various options, but they are all pretty similar.

this is another great Delta product. I am a contractor and use this handshower frequently as well as many other Delta Products. I have never been disappointed with the product. It is good quality and functions as claimed. My plumber finds the product easy to install and appreciates the constant quality.

Delta Handheld Shower Grab Bar
This is a great solution for those that want a handheld shower added to their bath. We have used this particular model in many of our custom homes. This is a stylish design available in multiple finishes to compliment any bath. The advantage of this particular model is two-fold-- it acts as a grab bar, which enhances safety, and it slides up and down for ease of use. Nice looking and sturdy shower bar
I needed an ADA grab bar and figured I might as well find one that works with the handheld shower. This fit the bill and looks attractive. The shower head is easy to move up and down, although the piece to move it take up a lot of visual space. The shower head has good flow.

Not quite enough water pressure
I just had a knee replacement and this has been great. I had it installed with a grab bar on the side of the bath and I have felt completely safe. Water pressure is less than the original showerhead and I am going to get a part that allows me to use either. I had hoped this would be a replacement but, no.

Functions, but water pressure is an issue
There's absolutely nothing technically or aesthetically wrong with this handshower package - it's just that if the water pressure isn't sufficient, the overall effect is rather underwhelming. Everything arrived timely and nothing was missing.

Rubber/plastic gasket parts in the clamp deteriorate, and there are no replacement parts.
As these rubber/plastic gaskets come apart, the shower head becomes impossible to move without taking it apart and removing part of the gasket. Eventually the shower head has to be use at only one height. And there are no replacement parts available.

Installed this in a shower for my 90 year old Dad so he would have something strong to hang on to while transferring to the shower seat. Works like a charm. Heavy duty, well made, multiple shower spray functions are a plus. Nice design does not look like a handicap bar.

Great Delta Quality
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We remodeled our bath 15 months ago and installed this Delta hand shower package. It was selected due to the Delta reputation and warranty, and has been great so far. We liked the fact that there was more metal vs plastic composition. The variety of spray options is nice to have, and the hose does not kink. It stretches over to reach the seat we had built into the tile shower surround. I was able to find some Delta grab bars that matched the slide bar, and the shower looks more designer rather than like an ADA shower. The best of both, since my spouse is disabled and safety is paramount.

Shower Wand does NOT pivot down
I hate this produce. I went to a highly reputable plumbing store, Brothers Plumbing, in Sacramento, CA
I saw the product on the wall as a display. I worked with the owner of Brothers Plumbing to select and purchase the faucet
The mechanism that holds the shower want on the grab bar will go up and down, or left and right ONLY !!!
My contractor mounted the grab bar too high. The water goes over my head onto the back of the small shower stall (no bath tub). So now I have to sit and hold the shower wand to get water on my body. :-((((
I never in my wildest dreams imagined a quality shower faucet from Delta would not allow the shower wand to pivot down, nor that Delta would not have another mount that would work with the faucet that I paid $267 for.
I'm going to order 59210 and hope I can swap out my 51900 for the 59210 without changing tiles.

Hand shower with slide bar
We have had this installed about two months now and are very happy with the quality of materials and construction. The operation of the shower is very good with the different settings that can be used. This is a replacement for an older Delta hand shower and slide bar with good directions for installations. Will highly recommend this product.

Q&A
I just installed this today and the pause button does not work. It slows the water, but a lot of water still flows through. Is there somthing that may be installed wrong?

Thank you for your question. The Delta 51900-RB Slide Bar Hand Shower pause button is not a complete and positive shut off. There will be a trickle of water from the hand shower still, when the pause setting is activated. How do you turn it on and off and adjust the temperature? Do you need a separate component?
Thank you for your question, Sarah! To use this hand shower and slide bar, you will need to also install a universal rough in valve like the R10000-UNBX along with a diverting valve like the R11000. You could alternatively install a universal valve along with a 3-way shower arm diverter instead.
