We just installed a 521-PPU-DST which we love. How durable is it?

Our question: is the 520LF-HDF more durable? The 521 we have seems to have a plastic body. We would like to find out if the 520LF-HDF would give us the same delightful style but in a more durable package?

Hi Gordon1949, Thank you for your question. The faucets externally are the same except for a minor difference in handles. Internally they use the same cartridge, but where the 521-PPU-DST has a non metallic valve body and pex lines the 520LF-HDF has a brass valve body and copper supply lines. Thanks, Dave

What is the difference between a cache aerator and vandal resistant aerator? Also, what does the HDF suffix mean?

I Have narrowed my choice of faucet to model number 520, but am having trouble discerning which one has which features. I would like the metal pop-up, water sense certified, water legislation compliant faucet. What noticeable difference is there in flow rate if the 1.5gpm, .5gpm and .35gpm are water sense certified? Should I go with the 1.5gpm?

Thank you for your questions. Delta Faucet model # 520LF-HDF is a commercial grade faucet that is water sense certified. The EPA only gives water sense certification labels to faucets that have 1.5 gpm or .5 gpm. A cache aerator is an aerator that is hidden inside the spout of the faucet. A vandal resistant aerator hangs down from the spout but cannot be removed without a special wrench. The letters HDF stand for Heavy Duty Faucet and are used to designate a commercial grade faucet.
