Rated 5 out of 5 by from Delta 550 I bought this Delta Bathroom Faucet years ago. To my surprise Delta stopped making this faucet for the bathroom with the pull out! I use it a lot more that you would think. It works well for different uses. I keep calling Delta when there are problems and of course it came with a lifetime warrantee which obviously was included in the original purchase price. Too bad Delta does not issue a new model number to copy this CLASSIC. The only thing that I have to replace is the cartridge and hose every 10 years or so. I highly recommend that Delta supersede this model number with a replacement!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's a hose and a faucet! This is the 7th time I have bought this faucet for use in 3 different homes and an office bathroom. The pull out faucet is great for washing hair, bathing pets, filling buckets, rinsing the sink - anything you can think of. The finish stays nice even when used for 6 years with nasty well water.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I would prucahse again We installed two faucets and are happy with then. One down side is the faucet will dislodge from the base during cleaning. We have had to learn to perform this task more tenderly than with the regular faucets in the other bathrooms.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Better Than The Old Model This replaces the same model from 25 years ago. The new one has better temperature control and smoother action. Instructions were very good. The old one came with the special gasket wrench. The new one did not.

What faucet(s) can replace this without drilling new holes?

We have these faucets in 2 bathrooms. Both bathrooms have hand-made custom tile on the counters and we don't want to drill any additional holes for fear of ruining the custom tile. After 15 years, these faucets can't be repaired and need to be replaced (due to persistent leaks). We are contemplating the 1980-DST Pilar Single Handle Bar faucet in the bathrooms as the holes seem to match. Do you have any other suggestions?
Asked by: Janet
Hi Janet, Thank you for your question. The model 550 would have required a 3 hole, 4" centers installation. The model 1980-DST requires only 2 holes. Any of our 4" centerset lavatory faucets should fit your countertop. You can use the following link to narrow down your choices. Make sure to check centerset under installation type. http://www.deltafaucet.com/bath/lavatory/filter.html Thanks, Dave
