Rated 1 out of 5 by Kathy from Corrosion and Splashing I purchased two Delta Vero 553LF-SS bathroom faucets for my bathroom remodels. I loved the look and tolerated the splashing but am very unhappy with the corrosion around the water spout. Instead of showing off my bathrooms, I am embarrassed with how bad the faucets look. I do not have a corrosion problem on my new Delta kitchen faucet or new Delta shower head that I purchased at the same time. Disappointed especially at $500 each.

Rated 1 out of 5 by LindaH from Nice looking but Poor design We did a bathroom remodel 6 yrs ago using this attractive faucet. First of all, it is not aerated so any volume of water that comes out splashes up and makes the mirror, the counter, my clothing all wet which has required me to wipe down everything after use. Clothing gets quite wet and uncomfortable. The pop up drain assembly has not functioned for the past 3-4 yrs. Last of all, the surface has already pitted. We are replacing our faucet but this time I will read all reviews and not purchase from a high end plumbing fixture store and make a purchase based on positive reviews.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Dano from Water flow Form seems to overshadow function. Water stream is harsher than expected, therefore there is splashing when it hits the bowl. Not a matter of water flow, as it seems to be worse, the lower the water flow.

Rated 1 out of 5 by nana423 from Needs to be redesigned I bought this several months ago and it has not worked properly since. The water hits the pop up and splatters all over the person using the sink. When I tried to get it repaired I was told the warranty does not cover any repairs. They sent the parts they say I need without any directions. When I finally got the instructions I needed a plumber to fix the problem. Delta will not back up their products. I wish I had read the reviews before I purchased this product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by nana423 from Corrosion Problem We installed this faucet in our newly remodeled guest bathroom and within a few months it began to corrode around the water outlet and the splashing is horrible. Every time I use it I get water all over my clothes. The water hits the "pop up" drain and goes everywhere. We have Delta faucets throughout our home with no problem, except this one. I'm trying to replace the water filter but can't find one anywhere. I'm so disappointed in the quality of this Delta product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by KMcB from Corrosion and splashing are both unacceptable. We are on our second of these faucets and both the original one and its replacement started to corrode around the spout within a few weeks of our beginning use. We have a whole-house water softener, and we don’t have this corrosion problem with any other faucet in the house. So I concur with many other reviewers on this corrosion issue. Also, I completely agree with other reviews about the unacceptable level of splashing this faucet causes, even at a very low output. This faucet is a mess and really disappointing.

What is the dimensions for the single hole faucet?
I need to know for my quartz countertop template. Thanks for your time !
Hi Angie, Thank you for your question. The base of the model 553LF-SS faucet measures 1-7/8". The recommended hole size is from 1-5/16" to 1-1/2". Here is a link to the spec sheet for the model 553LF-SS that shows these and other important dimensions. http://www.deltafaucet.com/customersupport/documentation/553lf-ss.html?document=ts&fromDetailArea=bath&documentIndex=0#flashWrapper Thanks, Dave

Now I am afraid!-My husband said we could just turn down the taps under the sink---? Hate the thought of paying plumber twice. Also I will hate having a mess. Can we just adjust water under cabinette? Also what pop up drain? I want a large mushroom push top that covers the drain hole completely with no company name stamped on it. I don't want the drain that comes with it.
HI Margo, Thank you for your question. Turning down the water supplies under the counter will reduce the flow to the model 553LF faucet. You could also replace the 1.5 gallon per minute flow regulator in the faucet to one with a lower flow rate. We offer a 1.0 gpm RP73838 and a 0.5 gpm RP78837 flow regulator. The regulator is located under the valve cartridge in the faucet. Our model 72172 push pop-up less overflow, or the 72173 push pop-up with overflow is the style of drain assembly with the large mushroom push top with no brand information stamped on the cover. Thanks, Dave

will the model 553LF faucet operate with t6he flow restrictor removed?
Installed in a replacement situation and flow is much less than with original faucet, also a Delta, model number unknown.
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # 553LF has a flow rate of 1.5 gpm at 60 psi. This is the highest flow rate of this faucet model.

Can this faucet be used with a sink that has an overflow? Does the drain allow for this or is it a separate purchase?
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model 553LF has a metal push-pop assembly that does have overflow holes included in the box. If you need to purchase it separately, the model number is 33W576.

Pop-up flange options
I recently installed the 553LF faucet. Before I install the spring loaded pop-up stopper I was wondering if there is stopper with a wider flange available? The former owners installed a Porcher sink and faucet which appears to have a 2 1/2 inch diameter flange on its stopper where the pop-up stopper flange is 2 1/8 inch diameter. I am concerned the pop-up stopper flange will be too small for the Porcher sink opening.
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet makes pop-up assemblies with a flange to meet industry standard measurements of 2.11 inches.

Thank you for your question, Laney Interiors! The Vero collection is unfortunately not available in Matte Black at this time. Below is a link to similar models that are offered in this finish. https://www.deltafaucet.com/bathroom/sink-faucets/single-hole?facetFinish=matteblack Best regards, Edward

Is it possible to change the angle of the temperature valve - we have a backsplash that will be very close and when turning the valve to “hot” it will bump in to the back splash.
Hello Andy4567, Thank you for your question. The Delta Vero Lavatory 553LF faucet must be installed with the handle on the right. The handle pulls out, away from the body to turn on and give cold water. Pull the handle towards you to get hot water. Best regards, Tanya

How to remove the stream straightener
Hi, Frank! Thank you for your question. To remove the stream straightener in the Delta 553LF-SS Faucet, simply pull the stream straightener straight down and out with needle nose pliers. Best Regards, Rosanna

Use silicone when installing the drain?
The instructions with my Vero show in the diagram using silicone at the drain, but the instructions don't mention it. Is this necessary?
Dear AmandaM, Thank you for your question. We do recommend applying a bead of silicone to the underside of flange of the drain assembly, for installation. This help creates a tight seal to the sink hole. Best regard, Tanya

Has anything been done to fix the splash issue with this faucet? I have reduced the flow at the shut-off to almost nothing and it still splashes. Would a new stream regulator help (RP76571)? or is it the way it is?
Thank you for your question, Bobs! I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing splashing from your Delta 553LF faucet. We do not recommend removing the stream straightener as this part is not designed to be easily removed. Instead, you can soak a rag in a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water and apply around the spout for an hour or even overnight to help break up any debris that maybe causing the splashing issue. We would also recommend either using a low gallons per minute flow regulator such as part number RP73838 or simply turning the supply lines down halfway or until the splashing stops. https://media.deltafaucet.com/PartsDiagram/DPD-L-553LF_A.pdf Best Regards, Rosanna

Is there a way to eliminate excessive spash from the basin with the Vero faucet?
We recently bought a spec house which has 4 Vero faucets. Despite the beauty and innovation, we are concerned about the large amount of splash that this faucet puts out. The builder said that it was because there was no aerator. Is there any way to minimize the splash? We have tried turning down the supply tubes, but that doesn't seem to help.
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # 553LF may have a splash effect depending on the size and shape of your sink. The easiest way to combat this is to turn down the force of water coming out of your faucet.

Hi, I see that the lever is pulled down to turn the water on, I am assuming cold water, but how do you turn it to get hot water? Are you able to remove the flow restrictor and is the bowl stopper the push in the sink like the 3553LF? Thank you, Sydney
Hi, Sydney! Thank you for your question. The Delta 553LF faucet handle pulls out, away from the body to turn on and give cold water. Pull the handle towards you to get hot water. The flow restrictor in the faucet is non-removable. The stopper for the drain assembly is a push pop up. Best Regards, Rosanna

can this faucet be used for a square 5.5" high vessel sink?
Grit, Thank you for your question. The faucet could be installed with a 5.5" vessel sink. However, the spout will drop below the rim of the bowl at 5 1/4" above the deck surface. The vessel version of this faucet is model 753LF. The end of the spout on this model is 9 9/32" above the deck. Please refer to the Technical Specifications linked below. https://media.deltafaucet.com/SpecSheet/DSP-L-553LF%20Rev%20E.pdf Best regards, Jon

I have a 553LF-SS, Delta Vero Single-Handle 1 Hole Sink Faucet (Stainless Steel) installed and I need to replace the pop-up stopper. Can I order a replacement for the stopper? Thank you!
Thank you for your question Jim B. The 553LF-SS includes the 33W576SS springloaded pop-up. Unfortunately, the stopper is not a replaceable part by itself. If the stopper is needed the drain assembly would need to be replaced. Best regards, Bryan

Cold water runs strong however hot water runs very restricted not a strong flow. No kinks in lines and no apparent blockage in lines. Is there an adjustment? Suggestions? Delta Vero 553LF-SS 4 years old
Hello Steve, We apologize for any issue with your Delta Faucet 553LF-SS. We are happy to help. The issue is likely debris in the supply line or faucet. We recommend removing the supply lines and flushing with water into a bucket. Then, remove the faucet cartridge and flow restrictor to flush water through the faucet valve. Use a bucket to redirect the water that will shoot from the valve. If the issue remains, replace the cartridge RP50265. Please reach out directly if you have any questions or need additional assistance. Best regards, Bryan

I AM HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE SPLASHING WITH THIS FAUCET. IT NEEDS AN AERATOR. IS THERE AN AERATOR FOR A SIMILAR FAUCET THAT COULD BE USED ON THIS ONE. CUTTING THE FLOW RATE IS NOT AN ACCEPTABLE SOLUTION.
Hello OKIEPOKE, Thank you for your question! I will be happy to assist! Model 553LF has a stream straightener and does not have an option for another aerator. This model has flow restrictors inside of the valve, however, that would be changing the flow rate. Please contact us back if you need further assistance. Best Regards, Kyra

What is the best way to clean champagne bronze? I can't seem to get it to look clean and polished. I'm just using soap and water.
Hello Eteply, Thank you for your question. We are happy to help! Always blot dry any water from the faucet surface. Allowing water to evaporate on the surface can lead to the build-up of mineral deposits. Cleaning with a damp non-abrasive sponge and buffing it dry with a clean soft cloth should help keep your product looking beautiful. How do you remove the bonnet cap on the Vero 553LF faucet? I am attempting to replace the cartridge.
Hello Lewis, Thank you for your question. We are happy to help! To remove the bonnet nut on the Delta 553LF faucet, remove the set screw cover with a small tool and loosen the set screw with a 3/32" hex wrench. With the handle removed and the water supply off, the cap will pull off the bonnet nut and a wrench can be used to remove the bonnet nut. https://media.deltafaucet.com/MandI/86513%20Rev%20E.pdf Best regards, Bryan

How do you clean the flow restrictor in the Vero? I suspect it has some mineral buildup
Hello Pat D, Thank you for contacting us, I would be happy to help you. We do recommend flushing the valve; It will allow the removal of debris in the lines. Here are the steps for flushing your faucet. Please shut water supplies off before starting this process. You will need Phillip's screwdriver and Start by popping the cap off the front of the handle. Then you would remove your handle with the screwdriver. Please pull the handle off of the cartridge, you will then find the cap and bonnet nut. Both the cap and bonnet nut would be unthreaded from the faucet. The next part you should see is the cartridge, please grab and pull it out. Then using needle nose pillars grab the brass insert and pull it out. Under the insert is the flow restrictor and this is where the blockage would be located, once cleaned follow the directions in reverse for reinstall. Please contact back with any further questions. Best Regards, Nicole
