Rated 1 out of 5 by from Spray pressure disappointing We have a new construction home (11/2014) and purchased two of these shower heads. From day one, the spray didn't feel very strong. Rinsing soap and shampoo takes longer because the streams of water just don't have much pressure behind them, regardless of the stream setting. If I have it on the combo massage/spray, some of the streams look as if the water is just falling out of the shower head, instead of spraying. You would think we were on a well, the pressure is so weak. We have municipal water and it's 55 psi from the line.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Agree with bulky I have to agree with bulky. The water pressure is pretty disappointing considering what we paid for this unit. The water pressure is fine at other faucets in the house, as was the shower head it replaced (which was a $30 item). We just remodeled our whole bathroom and it is no fun to have to consider replacing something brand new already. The design is a good idea and it's easy to use, but if it can't put out adequate pressure, it's not worth the money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very bad performance I expected a much better stream from this unit. The older PF unit had a stronger spray and was a similar combination. This unit barely has a spray stream out of it no matter what the setting is selected. I measured the water before adding the the new head and was 50 psi and 5 gpm. With this 2.5 gpm there is very little force to the stream nothing compared to the commercials. For a very expensive unit this is a great disappointment.

How can I adjust the force required to rotate the spray adjustment dial?

My wife has limited grip strength, and the force required to rotate the spray adjustment on our Delta In2ition shower heads is too great for her to manage. How can I adjust this to reduce the required force. Also, how can I disassemble the head to clean mold and mineral deposits from inside and in the orifices?
Asked by: James
Hi James, Thank you for your question. Unfortunately there is not a way to adjust the showerhead to make it easier to rotate between the spray settings. We do not recommend disassembing the showerhead. Soaking the showerhead in a 50/50 solution of vinegar and water will help break up mineral build up on and in the showerhead. Thanks, Dave

Does this meet standards required by California residential code?

My city requires shower control valves conforming to ASEE 1016, ASME A112.18.1/CSA B125.1 and they must be set to deliver a maximum mixed water setting of 120F (CPC 408.3). Does this shower faucet meet this?
Asked by: Ed
Hi Ed, Thank you for your question. The model 58466-SS is only a showerhead. The showerhead complies with ASME A112.18.1/CSA B125.1. The ASEE 1016 and CPC 408.3 codes refer to the scald guard and max temperature setting on the shower valve, not the showerhead. Thanks, Dave

I just purchased model 58466-SS and would like to get more water pressure from the head is there a water saver inside the unit that I can remove?

Asked by: Raz
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # 58466-BC has a 2.5 gpm at 80 psi and that is the largest water flow allowed by legislation. We do not recommend removing anything from the showerhead and it will void the warranty if anything is removed.

water spray

When using the handheld portion, does water also spray from the rest of the fixed shower head part?
Asked by: Rim
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model #@ 58466-BC has a dial on the back of it to switch from the stationary showerhead to the handheld or to both.

Delta Shower head 58466-SS

Should water be coming out of the center of the hand held head? On mine, it only comes out of the pin holes around the outside of the hand held. Is it defective?
Asked by: Jim
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # 58466-SS has a diverter dial on the back of the stationary showerhead that turns to activate either the stationary showerhead by itself, the handheld showerhead by itself or the two together. The different massage choices are for the handheld showerhead, and they are operated by turning the front dial on the handheld shower.

What is the finish "-BC" ?

Bright Chrome or Brushed Chrome. Delta's web site does not show BC defined in it's "What does this part number mean" and some other sites use Brushed while others show Bright. Please provide correct description.
Asked by: Bill
Thank you for your question. BC stands for Brushed Chrome finish.
