Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does what needs to be done. I actually bought 2 of these, I am putting in two new showers and needed new valves too. The plumber seemed happy with them so that is good.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Rough-in Valve - Stop Valve Our master bath is now remodeled. Thé valve seems to be working properly. It has a stop valve. Should we ever have issues with the spray or handle, the water can be turned off without affecting the kitchen and main bath. As far as water flow, I use a hand held spray; and, it works well for us.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does what needs to be done. I purchased this, actually I purchased two of them because I am redoing two bathrooms. I had no idea about needing valves. My plumber said that I would need them and that this brand/type would be the ones for my chosen shower heads. They seemed to be easily installed. He liked them so I like them.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Beware - Lower Flow! Flow rate is closer to 2.0 GPM. Valve, and faucet attachments, all contain more plastic parts than I expected. I will buy Moen for my next bathroom. Moen has less plastic parts.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Second Fail in Less Than Four Years My first experience with this valve was a total fail. I had the unfortunate experience of receiving a defective part. Delta was great about sending me a replacement at no cost. That one worked well for three years. Over time, less and less water comes through. If I push it all the way to cool, I get lots of water, when I mix in the hot water, it slows to a trickle. Time to contact Delta again. I'm confident that they will send me a replacement valve again (it has a lifetime warranty), but I will still need to get a plumber out here.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from total gut, down to the studs Master bath remodel....bathroom fixtures could not be more impressive. Looks extremely High End and Delta was the only brand that had a complete matching set for claw foot tub faucet, lavatory sink faucet and shower rain-head and handheld sprayer. The temperature of the shower control is spot on every time.....LOVE MY PURCHASES!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from When I ordered the fixtures I didn't understand why I needed this so since it stated you need it, I got it. When the plumber came it was a good thing I had since my old was wasn't going to work with my new fixtures. It works great!!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It works this unit is an ON/OFF valve and HOT/COLD mixing valve, had it for 4 months in 3 apartments no problems at all. However, you must know Delta has a scalding water STOP on these and if you want really hot water you must adjust the STOP otherwise you will get warm water instead of HOT water. This goes well with R11000 Delta, I wanted to be able to use just the wall shower or just the rain shower(overhead) or both at same time. This valve allows that to happen.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Outstanding valve, but... This unit was installed in a newly remodeled shower. It does a wonderful job of retaining the desired temperature by having separate mixing and shutoff controls. My, and the installer's only complaint is the instructions that came with it were vague on the correct method for assembling the internals, resulting in a couple hours of trial and error assembly and disassembly to get the correct position for consistent hot water. Once the correct assembly was discovered, it has worked wonderfully.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GOOD QUALITY VALVE We had this valve installed when our bath remodel was done. It replaced a dual handle diverter valve . We are very pleased with the quality and performance of the valve. It operates smoothly and is much easier to use than the old diverter valve. The Service Stops are handy as well. We highly recommend this valve. In fact we will be remodeling a second bath soon and plan to use the same model valve.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Needed Cold water with pressure After researching for a valve that would go to my existing Delta shower set up and having a certified plumber also call several times this item was order on line for installation by a plumber. Though the installation took a while it was well worth it. Now we can control the temperature of the water and have as much pressure through the shower heads as we want. With 110 degrees everyday it's nice to take a cold or cool shower.

I bought this valve and is it possible to run to the shower and than run the tub spout to a rain head? And then on top of that is there trim kit that can run both at the same time, one at a time? Or do I have to buy a diverter valve?

Asked by: tyler
Thank you for your question, Tyler. You would need an R11000 diverter valve and a 3-setting trim kit in order to divert between a shower head and rain can shower head. The R11000 valve will be connected to the top port of the R10000. Best regards, Jon

What is the difference between this model with PEX Cold Expansion R10000-MF and the PEX Crimp R10000-PX? Is the insert barb bigger in the former than the latter to accommodate the stretched PEX during installation? Thanks.

Asked by: David
Thank you for your question, David! The difference on these models is solely in the connection for the Inlets in regards to the type being used. Both will feature universal 1/2" connections, however the R1000-PX will have slightly tapered inlets for easier installation. Best regards, Edward

i installed two of these rough in valves into my walk in shower. I teed the hots and colds together from original. I don't have a valve yet but plugged the shower head. i noticed that the valve itself is very hot to the touch with no H2O moving through

Asked by: Doug
Hi, Doug. Thank you for your question. The R10000-MF is a solid brass valve body. Any type of connection around the valve body in your wall that gets hot will make the valve body hot. Best Regards, Rosanna

What is the difference between a "box" model and the other roughin valves? Also, what is the difference between a high flow model and non high flow rough in showervalve?

Asked by: Aaron
Hello Aaron, Thank you for your question. The Delta MultiChoice Universal Rough-In "box" model rough-in valves are single model units and non-box models comes as bulk/case of units. The difference between the High Flow and non high flow valves is that there (non high flow valve) a bottom port for a tub spout installation and the R10000-UNBXHF valve does not include a bottom port for a tub spout installation. The high flow valve are designed for shower only installation. Best regards, Tanya

What size PEX pipe is needed for the R10000-PXWS inlet connections?

For the MULTICHOICE® UNIVERSAL ROUGH VALVE BODY - R10000-PXWS What size PEX pipe is needed for the inlet connections?
Asked by: Brent
Thank you for your question. The R10000-MF has 1/2" PEX cold expansion connections and 1/2" universal outlets with male threads. The R10000-PXWS has 1/2" PEX Crimp connections and 1/2" universal outlets with male threads. Best regards, Edward

Pex inlet flow restriction...?

The inner dimension of the PEX inlets on these vale bodies are considerably smaller than any 1/2" cold expansion fitting I've seen (picture attached for reference). After referencing different pictures of these cold expansion PEX valve bodies, some versions show larger inner diameters on the inlets, while some are smaller. My questions/concerns: Wouldn't these inlets with a smaller ID restrict water flow? Can you please provide the actual Flow/GPM of this specific valve body with these small inlets? Are the inner diameters of the PEX inlets different between the WS and non-WS versions? Thank You
Asked by: Grizzle
Grizzle, Thank you for your question! There is no difference in inlet diameter between MF and MFWS or any other with and without stops roughs. The difference in the inlets between PEX (MF, PX) and other valve types (UN, IP, etc.) will not produce a noticeable change in the flow rate as the waterways through the cartridge are more restrictive. The cartridge determines the flow rate, so the maximum flow rate will be determined by the series of trim that you use. Here are the approximate flow rates for each series at 60 PSI: 14 series - 5.8 GPM 17 series - 5.9 GPM 17T series - 7.3 GPM Best regards, Jon

Not completely understanding the different pex type of barb fittings, would the R1000-MF or the R1000-PX be the correct choice if my plumbing contractor uses Upinor Propex fittings for his installations? Is there a tech. sheet for fitting profiles?

Asked by: Captain T
Thank you for your question, Captain T! Both the R10000-MF (1/2" PEX cold expansion connections) and the R10000-PX (1/2" PEX Crimp connections) have 1/2" universal outlets with male threads. The difference on these models is solely in the connection for the Inlets. Both will feature universal 1/2" connections, however the R1000-PX will have slightly tapered inlets for easier installation. This would be up to the contractor to decide what methods best suit the installation needs. https://media.deltafaucet.com/MandI/50353%20Rev%20J.pdf https://media.deltafaucet.com/SpecSheet/DSP-B-R10000%20Rev%20J.pdf Best regards, Edward
