Rated 5 out of 5 by from Valve Upgrade This new rough-in valve gave us the flexibility to install a shower handle with temperature control independent of the water volume. Went it easily and works great. Best of all, if access to the cartridge is needed in the future, it can easily be done by just removing the handle and not cutting into the wall! Easy to order, great price and excellent delivery time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great valve Used for shower only. Easy to install. Being that it’s universal there are many options for faucets. Delta’s customer service is second to none when it comes to honoring their warranty. Great company and great valve. Thanks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely easy to install ! Replaced another kitchen faucet that wasn't a Delta, the delta is so much better quality, easy to install and if it last as long as the rest of the delta products I have in my home, I shouldn't have to replace this one for a long, long time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works as expected Not much to say. How do you review a rough in valve? It arrived as advertised, was installed by a professional plumber, and so far is functioning properly. I hope that remains the case as it is now buried behind expensive tile.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far, so good Our contractor installed this valve in our new bathroom. We purchased the one with "service stops" because we were told these "stops" allowed you to turn off the water here and not have to turn water off to the whole house. It seems to work because our shower works fine. Obviously, I'm not a contractor and had no clue what this was for, but our contractor indicated it worked fine, too. I'm not sure how much these cost at retail and I can't speak about the quality other than our experience. It seems to do the job it's supposed to.

Installation?

The pic for R10000UNBXT looks like RP47202 is integral to it. The generic installation says I may need a RP47202 for thin wall installation. What is your definition of "thin wall"? How is R10000UNBXT installed that RP47202 is needed or and advantage?
Asked by: tbb
Thank you for your question. One example of a thin wall would be Fiberglass. Installation instructions are included with Delta part #RP47202. The valve body assembly with thin wall support are installed against back of the mounting surface. The thin wall plate is mounted against the wall with self tapping screws. This installation acts as a support.

New Shower Construction

I am building a new shower in which I would like to have an overhead showerhead a handheld shower head and also body sprays controlled by the same valving system. Is this possible and what components will I need to make this work correctly. If not would I use a tempering valve that feeds separate control valves? Could you provide me with a recommended list of materials that would be used for these applications. Thank you Derrick
Asked by: Derrick
Thank you for your question. We do manufacture a diverter rough-in valve. It is Delta Faucet model # R11000. Depending on which series you will pick, you will need to also pick the 6-function trim to go with this diverter. Then you will be able to add a handheld shower and the jets you would like.

Is R10000 UNWS appropriate for a shower head and hand held shower, no tub spout?

Asked by: Claire
Dear Claire, Thank you for your question. The Delta multiChoice Universal Valve R10000-UNBXT can be used with a Delta shower unit. If you are adding a handshower you will also need the Delta diverter valve R11000. Best regards, Tanya

How far away from the d11000 can the d10000 be?

Asked by: Tony
Hi Tony, Thank you for your question. The only limitation in the distance between the valves will be the trim kits that you use. They need to be at least far apart enough that the escutcheon plates don't touch. Best regards, Jon

I bought the Delta MultiChoice R10000 Can I use threaded brass fittings for my connections?

Asked by: JB
Hi JB! Thank you for your question. We recommend using proper fittings with each type of Multichoice Universal Rough Valve (copper tubing, iron pipe, and pex fitting). Below is a link with more information on these valves. https://media.deltafaucet.com/SpecSheet/DSP-B-R10000%20Rev%20J.pdf Best regards, Edward

I need to order the proper fitting in order to install our delta faucet set. I cant figure out the difference between R10000-UNBX and R10000-UN. Also is there a three neck hook-up version?

Asked by: Casey
Hi, Casey! Thank you for your question. The Delta MultiChoice Universal rough valve bodies R10000-UNBX and R10000-UN are the same and have no differences. For a 3 neck hook-up, we recommend to add a diverter valve to the top port to be able to install additional shower units. Best Regards, Rosanna
