Rated 1 out of 5 by from Really bad instructions and design You can't use either port for hand held shower. You have to use one on the left side and cap the one on the right. What a joke. Directions give you no heads up. Mud guard very flimsy. Don't waste your time with this one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very very bad installation instructions I just installed this valve in a shower. I cannot find in the instructions anywhere that states you cannot use the right side port for the hand held shower. You must use the left side, even if the shower opening is to the left. Then, you have to run your water supply pipe out to the left, back behind valve, and over to the right side. I did not get this until after I spent hours taking apart the diverter insert to see if it could be switched. There is a diagram showing diverter water flow in the manual, but the the manual does not state you can't use right side port. So of course you want to trouble shoot to see why. Second, the plastic cover is indeed very flimsy. Third, you have to install nipples into the drop ears and cap them off to install the testing plugs. There is no viable mud guard for tile installation. So if you are installing this item, make sure you add many hours to your estimate.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Just roughed it in, and not happy with what I see First, there's only two mounting brackets for the rough body itself and they are about an inch apart in the center of the valve. It can not support itself by what is provided and the excess weight of this particular combo valve. On the opposite wall I have a R10000-UNBXHF universal valve that has mounting brackets further apart, and on opposite corners which makes it so much more stable. The R22000 should have at least 4 because of the size and weight. Second, the rough in box, part number RP84875 only has one screw to hold it to the valve body. The trim attaches to the rough in box. ARE YOU KIDDING ?! How stable will the trim be when the rough in box isn't ? Take it from a plumber of 25 years. I've had to improvise to make sure this valve and trim stays on the wall for the next 10 years.

I'm picking up a T24959 Trim Kit. Is the R22000-ws sufficient? Will be installing a shower head, wand and 4 body jets. Will there be enough water flow to run 2 at a time?

Asked by: patrick
Hi Patrick, Thank you for your inquiry! Depending on the shower head, hand shower and body jets you are interested in, as well as your psi for your home, would determine if you will have enough water flow to run two at a time. We recommend contacting us on our customer service line at 1-800-345-3358 between the hours of 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM Monday ~ Friday as well as 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Saturday CST, to be able to assist you further with this inquiry. In the specsheet for this valve, it says "not recommended of tub application. No tub outlet".

I need the valve to operate tub spout, Handheld shower, wall shower (all the three independently). Also, handheld shower and wall shower to be operated simultaneously. In the specsheet, it says "Not recommended for tub outlet. No tub outlet". Does this mean I cannot use this valve if I need to operate tub spout and showers? If yes, what is the alternative?
Asked by: amateurplumber
Hi amateurplumber, Thank you for your question. This valve is not designed to be used with a tub spout. However, you may connect a non-diverter tub spout to one of the diverter ports as a temperature tester. Since the flow rate from the spout would be lower than a standard installation, we do not recommended to use it as a tub filler. Alternatively, you can install an R10000 and R11000 valve with corresponding trim kits. The tub spout should be connected to the bottom port of an R10000 valve to provide sufficient flow to fill a tub. https://www.deltafaucet.com/search-results?searchTerm=r10000%2C+r11000 Best regards, Jon

What is the recommend pipe size and water pressure for this diverter ?

Asked by: pat
Dear Pat, Thank you for your question. The Delta MultiChoice R22000-WS valve, is a universal type fitting and is 1/2" NPT male thread with 1/2" C.W.T. female sweat. It sweats onto 1/2" C.W.T. or accepts 1/2" iron pipe, PEX or CPVC adapters. The flow rate at 80 PSI is between 5.6 gpm and 7.4 gpm depending on the series of trim/cartridge used. https://media.deltafaucet.com/SpecSheet/DSP-B-R22000%20Rev%20B.pdf Best regards, Tanya

How can I install a water hammer arrester to this valve? Usually they face upwards and the outlets 2, 3 are in the way. Thanks.

Asked by: Amir Saad
Hello Amir, Thank you for your question. We do not recommended installing a water hammer system with the Delta Integrated Rough-In Valve R22000-WS. The upper outlets are for shower heads, hand showers and/or body sprays/jets. Best regards, Tanya

What is the difference between the R22000 and the R22000WS?

Asked by: JayMB
Thank you for your question JayMB. These valves are exactly alike except R22000WS has screwdriver stops which allow water to be shut off directly at the valve when needing to make repairs. Best regards, Edward
