Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product. Best I have found on the market No requirement for an access panel behind the shower. Delta can be repaired from the front side , Faucet cartridges or the diverter. Fewer moving parts mean longer lasting.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This product has failed us twice... Later in 2016 I wanted to take a shower and as I pulled the nozzle down, it started spewing out water.. once we removed it we found a crack inside of the spout and we had just replaced our old one probably in the summer of 2016. We have since replaced it again with the same product and just now (it is now May 6th 2017) it has cracked again. Perhaps it is just bad luck? Or maybe it's just made with extremely cheap materials but then sold for a steep price? I'm not sure but definitely would not recommend and quite disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use I like the overall design and ease of use. The hidden quality of the pull down diverter is especially appealing. Very good and well made product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost Perfect (Which is what I expected) I ordered this item as a replacement of my existing tub spout. The order was processed and shipped very expeditiously; I received it within 3 business days. It was exactly what I needed (a direct replacement for what I had) and installed easily. Up to this point all was excellent; however when I tested it, it leaked a small amount of water from the spout when in showerhead flow mode. I expected a 100% flow rate for something that was brand new. Several weeks after installation, the leakage issue remains (the same as initially experienced, not better, no worse). My disappointment prevents me from giving your product a 5-star rating.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Diverter Spout Have 63 of these in the building and hard water and rust particles do not seem to affect them. Just make sure your sweat collar depth is correct or it will ruin your day. Usually I set them at 3/8" from the wall using an FRP backing panel. If you intend to set tile in, go with 1/2 to 9/16 from the wall. On the O Ring I put some silicone grease or even a dielectric grease on it to insure no tear or scuffs occur to the O Ring as I thread on the Diverter Spout. As so far, the 63 in my building have not failed on their own, One was damaged in the 5 years they've been installed by human factors. For me, deviating from this product would be dumb...

this model faucet has failed for the second time. 6 mo ago it leaked back past the o ring and threads and into the wall, damaging my ceiling. I replaced it with another delta. it just did it again. Is there another one with brass threads internally?

Asked by: Brian Shelton
Hi, Brian. Thank you for your question, and I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing a leak at your Delta tub spout. We do have another tub spout that works with the brass adapter. The part is RP19820. Here is a link to the unit on our website: https://www.deltafaucet.com/bathroom/product/RP19820 Best Regards, Rosanna

will the spout work for my situation explained below?

My 1/2" copper pipe extends exactly 4" from the wall and has threads on the end. threads are 1/2' long. will the spout thread onto the pipe and be tight against the wall and be facing down?
Asked by: Jack
Thank you for your question, Jack. The tub spout will thread onto a 1/2" pipe that extends 5/8" to 1 5/8" from the finished wall or sweat onto a 1/2" copper pipe that is 2" to 4". Best regards, Jon

Is this item compatble with the adapter from my 18 year old Delta pull down spout? I am hoping to replace the spout without using a torch.

Delta RP17454 Nipple Length?

The instructions say the pipe should extend from 1/2 to 1 1/4 from the finished wall. My pipe is about 1 5/8 from the wall. It appears to work fine and I can see no leaks. There was plenty of length inside the spout for the o-ring to still seat. Is this acceptable or could there be issues that I am not seeing? Thanks
Asked by: Elgato
Dear Elgato, Thank you for your inquiry! This Delta Pull-Down Diverter Tub Spout RP17453 is designed to sweat onto a smooth copper pipe extending 2 - 4" from the finished wall, or thread onto a 1/2" IPS nipple extending 5/8 - 1 5/8" from the finished wall. There should be no issues with your install. https://www.deltafaucet.com/files/live/sites/delta/files/customer-service/FAQs/Tub%20spout%20install.pdf Best regards, Tanya

4" copper pipe. Will this work?

Hi, The measurement of the copper pipe from the finished wall to end of the nipple is exactly 4". Will this spout fit? I'm assuming my setup is standard and many people have the same setup. If this spout won't fit, what are my options for a"pull down diverter" style tub spout? Thanks!

How to remove delta tub spout - pull down diverter

It seems ro have a set screw hole in the bottom however there is no set screw to be found. I took a picture of the bottom screw hole and see nothing in there. The spout It isnt s rewing off either. Please help.
Asked by: Mrs. Fix it
Hi Mrs. Fix it, Thank you for reaching out. The hole on the bottom of the spout is a weep hole and does not contain a set screw. This tub spout threads onto an adapter, which connects to 1/2" IPS or sweats onto 1/2" copper. If it seems stuck, there may be sealant between the wall and spout that is preventing it from turning.
